Chester 26 May 2011

An early start (for my son and I) this morning to get to Chester for the "Flowerex", I was hoping for the newly outshopped 47790 in Northern Belle livery, we arrived after the empty stock, we could hear a 47 ticking over, my son wandered down a path and could see a DRS liveried 47 in platform 4, but no Northern Belle, however it was top and tailed ...

First we have to have 175010, this seems to follow me around everywhere !, off to Manchester

Then the Crewe shuttle departed

Another hippo, 175106, arrives from Manchester Airport - for Llandudno

And the Northern Belle to "Kenny O" departs, a flower show special.

As the WAG was only 10 minutes behind we decided, despite the rain, to wait for it,

150148 departs for Manchester, the slow way, via the CLC

And then the WAG (Holyhead - Cardiff Central) appeared, top and tailed, the was probably because it failed yesterday morning and a rescue loco travelled to Holyhead late last night, presumably the rear loco was off to Cardiff for work

57313 and 57315

And the last movement of a damp morning (so far, it's only 09:00 now !)

175116 heads for Manchester

I've never been on the wag when its top and tailed. Had a lovely meal on it while returning from Cardiff to Crewe a couple of months ago. Did I hear somewhere they were putting another wag train on.?

Indeed - son of WAG, supposedly to be loco hauled but a 175 at the moment, basically it works the opposite way.
