Class 26 Detail photographs.

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Hopefully this is in the correct section - I couldn't find any "Class 26/27 group" on the forum, so have posted here.

I visited the KWVR diesel gala at the end of April, and since I am currently/imminently modelling 2 x class 26 and 1 x class 27 the prescence of 26 038 offered the opportunity of some good close up detail phot's.

Just in case anyone else needs some detail shots, I have posted them here. If anyone else wishes to contribute, please feel free, but keep it relevent to the topic, Class 26/27 and perhaps Class 33.

Cheers.

Sean.

What the upward windscreen shots really bring out is the very marked frown or eyelid over each screen, where the curve from the dome meets the three flat planes.

Thanks guys.

I have some more of the cab interior, but I just didn't have time to upload them all. If anyone wants anything specific that isn't up there, let me know and I'll see if I snapped it.

As for the eye brows, you're quite right Chard. I may even have been over subtle on my 27, but would have to double check both classes have exactly the same brows.

Cheers.

Thanks Paul and John.

Paul, the locomotive was named after its restorer Tom Clift who, I believe, sadly passed away just as the restoration was completed. I am led to believe she is now up for sale though and IF this is the case, the new owner will get a smashing looking, (and sounding), loco!

Cheers.

Looks like it's fitted with the Shawplan fan grille and Pete Harvey bogie steps!

Yes, but the shape of the windows looks wrong to me. There's something not quite right about it. And the bogies don't look convincing to me either. Those secondary widget springs are incorrect for this particular loco too and the number of rivets on the roof panels had changed by the time they built this batch.

I hope they correct all these glaring errors before they release the production version, otherwise I won't be buying one.  ;)

Cheers,

Dave

Oh, if only I had the money...
