There are quite a few other photos (and videos) of GC HSTs on the 'net, taken around the time of this photo, and since then; in all of the others the standard class coach doors are clearly silver (even taking into account my apparently defective eyesight). Steve

The TCS EUN651 is also on the Dapol recommended list - I have one in mine - and costs only slightly more than the DZ125IN. I've actually got a cheap Bachmann shrink-wrapped decoder in the dummy car for the lights, and didn't have any problems fitting it. Mine does a scale 130mph flat out. Steve

I've bought the Virgin HST set - it's very nice, and runs beautifully. At the same time I bought some additional coaches - NC-051A 1st Class No buffers 41100 NC-053A 2nd Class No buffers 42235 NC-053D 2nd Class No buffers 42207 The roofs on the additional coaches are a significantly darker grey than those in the set. Does anyone know the explanation for this? Steve

I'm somewhat confused by the Virgin set. According to the Dapol catalogue, and the web sites of a number of retailers, ND-122d has power cars 43008 and 43092, both without buffers. But it seems that what is currently being dispatched has power cars 43071 and 43067, the latter having buffers. Perhaps a set with two 'unbuffered' power cars will follow eventually? Steve
