I wouldn't mind doing one of those someday (no use for one but they are lovely little things), so appreciate you taking the time to go through the build in such detail- cheers. Look forward to seeing it come together.

Wow... You are a very brave man to take a premium model and change it so drastically, and it paid off!
My thoughts exactly- lovely work.

Fantastic- I love the steelworks in particular.
Looks like somewhere I could quite happily sit and watch the trains go by for an afternoon.

3717 arrived the other day, sadly it's a Christmas present for my Dad so it'll be sat in a box on display (or more than likely in the loft). It's a beautiful model though and I shall ensure it gets tested occasionally!
Personally I think the 3717 guise is the more attractive of the two, I find the red frames a tad garish.

Thanks for the photos- always intended to explore this when I was down there- used to go over the Shapter's Way crossing quite often. Then one day it wasn't there any more
Considering the amount of railway that used to be around the centre of Plymouth, there's not only much left but often very little sign it was ever there. I've only just managed to work out where Millbay was! Had heard it mentioned but never thought to look, turns out it was where I sat my finals... Took me a while to work out I lived within what would have been earshot of Friary as well!
