  1.

Actually yes; announced as arriving in the Spring by Bachmann in February and will almost certainly have been made at the same time as the other 47s arriving now - they won’t set up a production line for 47s and then only do some before doing more later - something seems off. Perhaps they’re waiting for the etched plates?

Not a dealer rep model but 47245 of West Coast Railways has not appeared yet either unlike the other catalogue 47s. Anyone know why?

  2. Just a heads up, spoke to Rails and they are looking at end-Feb release to customers for this 66...my wallet gets a welcome reprieve until next pay day.

Agreed. From what felt like a long quiet spell for 00 modern image everything is now coming around the same time; Bachmann 47s, 66s & 70s, Hornby 87s, DJM Class 92 next installment, Heljan 26s, Oxford Rail Mk3a etc., phew!

Unfortunately, like most of us, I cannot afford everything at the same time so will have to be selective and hope other items don't sell out in the meantime. Great to have the choice though!

  3. On another note though the Anglia 47 is absolutely stunning. My first purchase of an Anglia liveried item, reckon I may have to find some rolling stock to go with it now and then maybe an 86...or two...

I hesitated on this one and now cannot find it available online. Does anyone know of any retailers that still have any? Thanks.

Ignore me. Found it at Trains 4U.

  4. Sorry to have upset the 'unofficial' forum police. My post now deleted and I won't post on here again.

Think you should delete your last post too. It was only quite politely pointed out that it had been discussed earlier in the thread :-)

  5. Funny, I went onto the Locomotion website a few minutes ago and apparently the Class 66 Evening Star is being released in the next 10 days on 5 Feb...imagine my shock :O

I had paid a £50 deposit but was non the wiser about the release date due to not receiving any comms.

I registered an interest for 10p when it was first announced but have not received any further comms yet either....? Did the same for the Royal 47 and was contacted once prices and release dates were known.

  6. When I said 2000, I meant number of models made, not the year 2000, though it could quite possibly be both.

I’ve only ever seen 50007 with black backed plates, and I saw it many many times in BR days, it was everywhere, or maybe it was just me being everywhere it was ;-) but it’s plates were always black.

As mentioned above, the release with red back nameplates was a production run and therefore not limited to a specific number. The Hornby Collectors Club model, weathered with black backed nameplates, was however limited to 500 models.

  7. It’s been done before as a limited edition, but then it had red backed plates.

This one will be popular as it’s how most people associate with it.

I think the previous was 2000, this one is 350.

Only need D400 as it was in the 1990’s to do, though having done it as new last year I think that versions a long way off. They could always do plain blue with headlight, I think 1 or 2 carried this livery post rebuild.

Two versions of 50007 in green have been done in the past by Hornby.

R2408 with red backed nameplates - production release 2004

R2499 with black backed nameplates, weathered - Hornby Collectors Club Limited Edition of 500 released 2005

  8. Thanks for the head's up.

It does seem a little at odds with Bachmann's website such as listing 66728 which the website doesn't show due until March/April. As already mentioned the new class 70s are an interesting omission too given the website says Dec/Jan. Time will tell...

  9. Many of which are quite recently arrived. One has to allow time for things to sell through. If Kernow has 504, 512 or whatever fits the container then they also have all of those to sell. Compared with a catalogue release which might give them 50 or 100.

How many of their commissions do you see in the bargain bin? Very few. Only the Delabole presflos currently other than some special offers to mark their 15 years in business. I think we can trust the team there to have good judgement as to what they can sell, at what price and in what quantity. Otherwise they would not be celebrating their 15th anniversary in a time of difficult trading conditions

I suspect they have not shifted as many 66418 or 37672 limited editions as expected as these have been discounted (15 year celebration is a good cover) or bundled cheaper with complimentary stock.

I'm really grateful to KMC for continuing to commission limited editions, they've done some good ones but, like a lot of us I'm sure, I cannot buy them all like I previously did but now choose the few I really, really like. I'm hoping one or two others will also be discounted in the future.

  10. The answer to that is: Dave will post something when he has some news.

You weren't the person I was thinking of :-)

I think it is reasonable given the nature of Dave's post on 3rd August to ask for a quick update. I'd hope he wouldn't feel hounded by this.

  11. Latest news of Rep Colas 47 from Hobby Shop is that it is now expected December just before the Jan/ feb models

Surprise, surprise. Just waiting for a similar announcement on the Locomotion 'royal' 47.

Still, some more time to save up.

  12. The emails fails to say how much they are thoigh, they were pre ordered on the basis of price to be announced, unless I've missed it somewhere.

To be honest the emails fail to say much at all, with key information like price and expected delivery dates missing. Even the info they try to give is replaced with an XXX.

Still it's better than complete silence and at least we know they are definitely going ahead.
