Just a note but 92212 with the BR1F tender is a preservation era model.

2009-2019, good for SVR, ELR, GCR, Bluebell, llangollen, WSR and of course Mid Hants.

it is the only surviving BR1F in preservation.

Which tender should it be fitted with in BR service

I'm really happy (so you should be after all the fuss, Johnster) with my 94xx which is still improving in respect of slow running and smooth stops and starts.  It is easily the best loco at Cwmdimbath in this respect, and the others are all pretty good!  It is also 3 loaded minerals stronger than my best Bachmann 57xx, and up there with the 56xx.  What a superb model.  The Railtec transfers arrived yesterday morning and her identity is now 8497,  allox Tondu May 1953 until 1961.

I do think they do need a lot of time running in mine has improved over time and its haulage capacity is very good

  3. There do seem to be some quality issues mine was a poor runner would just stop for no reason at slow speed and an issue with the centre axel being tight the loco made a high pitched noise and did not go anywhere.

  4. I have had the email as well so will be cancelling the pre order when I have checked I can buy it at the same price from my local shop. I am not waiting for more emails in the next few days for more items and the price promise being broken if so all these will be cancelled.

I don't think the point that we should be willing to pay any price for these high quality models holds true as raw material and fuel costs are dropping prices are going through the roof.

There is no point in high quality models if only a few can afford them.

  5. I have my special edition 1068 at home and wow looks great and runs great as well anybody else had issues with the cab light only one set come on with function 1.
