  1. Hi chaps,

As the question has now been asked i think i can clarify things from my angle as Product Development Manager for Dapol.

    1) I can confirm that on the subject of Leader designs and plans.............................we have none!

    2) I have not, in my 5 years with the company, and to the best of my knowledge, been asked to quote, design or talk to anyone regarding this proposed project. (hence point 1)

    3) I know both Joel and George before him have spoken to said parties (Joel on a courtesy visit to shops down south), however nothing has come of this contact.

If contact were made with me this week maybe, just maybe, i could hunt some plans/designs out, but development would take the best part of 12-15 months with manufacture at least 4-6 months after development was signed off on.

Hope this clarifies things as i know it.

    cheers

  2. slightly off topic (sorry)

But i have just been notified that 70012 has been dropped (and to use my sources direct quote BIG STYLE) whilst unloading at the docks today and is being sent back for repair immediately.:(

My source is pretty good on this, however as the unloading proceedure is normally done with workers present i hope everyone there is ok, as i have no news on that.

    cheers

  3. Hi everyone,

Can i just clear this up for you all.

Dapol were comissioned to produce the OO class 205 'thumper' unit by Kernow.

Development of other products for Kernow took a slight priority until last November when in conversation with Bachmann, Kernow found out that Bachmann were about to announce this model as part of their range.

Knowing that this would 'kill' Kernow sales in its tracks, Chris offered Bachmann the laser scan file we produced for him, and they struck a private deal which involved the laser scan going to Barwell.

Dapol, having paid for some of the laser scanning still intend to produce the 205 in N gauge, and this has now 'jumped the queue' for production and should be with us in a short time scale.

Never did Dapol have problems with Kernow regarding the Thumper in OO, and our relationship remains strong and is cemented further by new 'secret' projects still to be announced.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers

    Dave
