  1. Some progress this week, started looking at the cab interior with a hope to start this over the coming days. Exterior of cab has has some fine detail added. Started on firebox, smokebox and watertank, no real problems found. This is a large loco, I could hardly believe all this lot would fit on the running plate... but it does just about!
  2. Last two days I have made up the running plate as I needed a feel as to how the cab was going to fit. The cab interior will need to be built on the running plate and I am just in the process of seeing what needs to be squeezed in there.... Going to be a bit fiddly for my skills but thats seems to be the next phase, what is joined to the cab and what is attached to the running plate. The springs on the running plate are made from 4 parts soldered together, plus the bases around them, being very small but all soldered in without too much frustration. Still a number of small detail parts to be added to the cab shell. I also drilled small holes in the running plate for the cab hand rails, this makes it much easier to solder in later, rather than trying to fit wire with no lower guidance on the running plate.
  3. The project is to try and build a 4mm model of the CSP Models Manning Wardle 0-6-0ST Littleton. This is how far I am up to, just at the start and the cab is coming along. Thought it would be easy to bend the cab roof over the to sides but had to have a few tries before it was correct. Did not help as the etched lines at the bottom of the cab to line up with are in the wrong place. Just doing the cab extension, one is completed but still needs the beading. The other side yet to be done, then I will take a look at the bunker side. The cab interior must be completed before cab is attached as no access will be possible!
