  1. Most people will only read a manual when they have a head scratching moment and find the manual useless or read it whilst having a dump!
  2. Yer sounds good to me, I still need to master the art of casting, I use that liquid plastic, which is ok, but I just struggle with the odd air bubble in the cast, I have tried white metal casting in the past but wasn't that successful. I had a look, this afternoon, at my 141 which has been shelved for a few weeks, with intention of posting a picture, but wanted to tidy up some of the filler beforehand. You have got me in to mood to wipe the dust off and have another bash at it. But got some Pullmans to get finished and out of the way first, so hopefully next week I could spend a few hours on it. My plan is to have a number of them running around the future layout, in the red and cream. That’s mainly the reason for making some moulds. I have the bulk of the front moulded, just wanted a separate window and window frame section to cast in clear plastic, but can’t seem to cast a clear casting. I also have an MTK LEV in the stages of production, now that has been a challenge build!!
  3. I have started a 141, using a 142 as the donor. Even using a 142 as a donor it’s not been the easiest thing to build, but it is starting to take shape. The more you look at the 141 and 142 the more you notice the little differences, to the point you might as well scratch build one! I used what I could from the 142 and decided to make a mould to help when producing the 2nd half, covering the 2 sides back and front and the roof. The thing I am struggling with is the front window, would be so easy if it was a square window!!
  4. Never seen a Mosque modelled, yet in most towns they dominate the sky line. Also the community that use these buildings or an individual that my use such building.
  5. Hi Mike Very inspirational work, I’m intrigued about how you overcome the carved stone work on the hotel, to replicate this on your model?
  6. To repeat what everyone else has said that’s some outstanding work. I too am building my own point work and it’s not for the faint hearted, so my hat goes off to you. I don’t know about you, but it’s hard to test the points out, until you can run a full train over them. I have tested best I can, but another worry is how will they perform once ballasted. I have a better understanding of how the points work; it was easy on my old layout, out of the box and on to the boards. I’m looking forward to seeing some buildings; the level of detail to the track has got me all excited for what else is to come.
  7. Hi John. I have just discovered your layout thread. I'm going to watch this with very keen interest. This is mainly as I live in Leeds but also I am modelling the Bramley station and the Pudsey loop, which is less then 5 miles from your modelling location. I have done much research on my location and have plenty on Leeds and surrounding areas, so if I can support you with anything just give me a shout.
