  1. Having bought one of Accurascale's fabulous Manor locomotives, I'm now thinking of building a branch line terminus layout  in my loft set in GWR steam era.

In my last house I had the luxury of a large loft conversion dedicated to a fairly large modern era layout but this will be an altogether more modest affair - I'm thinking around four metres of scenic layout with some off scene storage sidings.

The era will be completely new to me, as will the concept of a terminus station, having previously had a large tail chaser.  Additionally, I'm going to use open frame baseboards, which once again will be a new venture for me.

I've attached a first draft of the track plan from Rail Modeller Express although this is a rough draft and in reality I'll be using Peco Code 75 track as opposed to the Hornby Settrack shown on the plan.

The idea is that the station will be to the north of the lines and have included a passing loop as well as some goods sidings.

I'd welcome any views or advise on this track plan - as I say, this is new territory for me....

already done by Bachmann for Olivia’s trains

ive been wracking my brains as to what ‘colourful’ might mean, first thought was something GBRf but I can’t think of anything that’s not already been done other than the revised 66718 black ‘london scenes’ loco

Evening Star has already been done but it hasn't put off Team AS. I reckon the GBRf Rainbow 66720  livery which was only ever released as a Ltd edition.

    A complete absence of 31's,56's and 60's - perhaps there re-tooling them?

Good point although I'd expect Hornby to come away with a nosebleed if they went toe to toe with either Accurascale or Cavalex's offerings.  Only way  I could see them getting anywhere would be by price. That said we need to see if the production models from AS & Cav justify the hype.

    Hi All,

Resurrecting this thread as the original information mentioned a Q3 2023 launch.

I realise we have only just entered this period, but has anyone had any updates?

Having visited the Dapol website, I can not see any information.

    Looking forward to your feedback.

Based on Dapols track record I'd say that they won't arrive in Q3 and that Dapol won't give any meaningful progress update any time soon....

  6. This is sure to be a great model so a win for modern modellers!

Reasonable to assume that it will prompt Hornby to respond with some sort of price drop for the existing (and very good) model so another win!

I look forward to some more livery announcements in the coming months.

Thank you for your patience on these!

    Order yours here: https://www.accurascale.com/collections/dcc-decoders-and-accessories/products/class-92-deltic-dcc-standard-chip

    Cheers!

    Fran

Are the drivers and 2nd men also having their release negotiated?

Absolutely Phil. It’s almost all in the prep.

I personally scratch all transfers off with a knife at 90 degrees to the surface (always done it this way). I then smooth over the whole item with micromesh (posh wet and dry). I also never fully paint strip the stuff I am painting.

Lloyd if you are mulling over whether to redo it then you have your answer. It will eat away at you later if you leave it.

Hi Andy - you're absolutely right on this point and as I'm typing, Amazon are on the case with some ultra fine wet and dry blocks!

It would've cranked me just knowing it was there even if it wasn't too visible.

Some you win, some you learn!
