The making of BOWFORD - OO layout.
Hi all
I averaged about four hours a day - but at 74 years old the max was 6 hours a day. Also the baseboards were 'used' ones having been salvaged from a previous layout by my friend who's layout it is. Another comment I would make is that adding all the 'stone cast' buildings etc. does make the baseboards very heavy, but my friend already had them all and had to be used to keep costs done.

I wanted to do something a bit different- so decided to do a B1 Carriage Heating Unit based on No 17. based at Ipswich from 63-66. I saw what I thought was a reasonable O Gauge B1 on Ebay and purchased it for a reasonable price. After delivery by courier and opening the box - my heart sank a bit. What I thought was a bit below par build quality, was in fact a very poor attempt not helped by a rough courier journey! I ended doing a virtual rebuild, making missing and broken parts and a full repaint. Weathering still to be done after getting a few photos of the prototype.
