Got layout out from loft yesterday afternoon, made temporary connection with DCC controller and test run a loco, all worked fine, and the Seep point motors had not seized up either. So next job a bit of general cleaning ,and try and work on the back scene, and tidy up the baseboard edges. Should keep me busy for a while.

Going to list this layout for sale, look out for posting in Classifieds section in the next few days.Having gone through my stock list, I am going to keep hold of this layout for the time being, so first job is to get it out of storage, test run some loco's and then do a bit more scenic work, at least I will then have a layout that as they say is 'Finished, but not completed'

I quite agree with you Darrel, like you, I have mainly purchased some of the GBL loco's for practicing detailing and weathering skills on, also I have an airbrush which has been in the box for three years..........Still at least I will have some projects to work on over the winter.

It will be interesting to see if the Deltic is derived from the Lima/Hornby Railroad version or if its going to be based on the Bachmann model.

Does anyone have any idea when any of the Diesel models will be released.
Thanks

Wow! The 28xx is already listed on ebay!
With a nice mark up in price too plus the postage. I think the 28XX should be the shops next Wednesday.

Here is a couple of pics in birds-eye view which hopefully shows the track plan.
Track is Peco code 75, the plan uses two asymmetrical 3- way turnouts. The high level tracks are purely cosmetic, and the track leading under the bridge to the top in the second photo goes to a cassette for swapping locos and stock. Each road hold two locomotives.
I am thinking of putting this layout up for sale over the coming weeks. -
I said in an earlier post that the GBL base I have was awaiting painting....
Done using black, white, and brown acrylics, and a coating of silver....
It looks even better with the finished loco on it!
Note that the fall plate still fits the gap between the Loco and Tender...
Looks good Sarah, nice work.

Just got a copy of the Coronation issue this afternoon. Also have the Mallard issue as well.

As can be seen from the pics, there is still potential for developing the scenic area and I will need to do some more work on the backscene.

I'll try and post a track plan in the next day or so.

Did not mention in original write up that the layout is HO scale.
This is one on my current on-going projects. The track plan is based on an 0 gauge layout called Swansea Riverside which was built by a member of the Luton Model Railway Club of which I am a former member. After seeing this layout, it was thought a good idea to try and replicate the plan in different scales and era's, I believe there that there are versions in 00 and N gauge and even one in Z gauge.
My version is Canadian/US based, set somewhere in Canada near the US border but not set in any particular location or era, there is a mix of locomotives from various railroads that use the fuelling and light maintenance facilities at Campbell Riverside.
The scenic part of the layout is 6' x 1' and is on two boards for easy transportation. It is DCC operated and at present one loco is sound fitted.

What is to plan with the Dapol HST power cars as twin packs and any news for thier possible release. Like other modellers, I have built up a rake of MK3 TS & TF coaches only requiring the power cars and eventually a TGS & Buffer car so the planned book sets would be of no use to me.
If HST's are only going to be released as book sets with TS/TF coaches, then many modellers are going to up up wih a few surplus coaches if they have already obtained their MK3 TS & TF coaches!!
Dapol, will the power cars eventually be released as twin packs?? I am awaiting the Blue/Grey livery versions.

RE: Horsetan's post 1210
I remember K and S models very well, quite often popped into them as they were my nearest model shop about 20 mins drive away before I moved.
