  1. Not sure if its been explained before, but does anyone know why the section of new wall opposite Sea LawnTerrace has the "Toblerone" pointy bits on it ? Is it, as someone suggested on another rail forum,so that the public cannot sit on top of the wall opposite to the residents ?
  2. A great loss. One of the deminishing "old school" model shops. Fantastic for items long since discontinued and second hand.Been a regular customer for many years. Neil and his family were always friendly and helpfull and like Bill said above, you always came out with something ! RIP Neil and condolences to all the family.
  3. Some good news............http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-28260795
  4. I notice that the siganlling is at present in a temporary form through Dawlish. Does anyone know what this temporary working involves ? Some signals are presently covered up e.g DM 206
  5. There are a few celebrations in the town on friday connected with the re-opening but I think you'll find nothing but praise for all those who'vd worked so hard over these last couple of months from the people of Dawlish.Indeed local forums are suggesting some kind of "thank you".
  6. NR had previously put out a standard 12 month estimate which has prompted many to believe this is the length of time until the pathway opens. Local councils have assured locals that this will not be the case although certain parts of the wall may be off limits for some time. Bearing in mind the peak season would be a disaster if no one could access the beach. The owners of the Red Rock Cafe at Langstone Rock are in severe financial difficultly due to the loss of their business and they were told initially "June". Council and NR are in talks at present.
