Kettering.
first from my great Gran's window that had a view of the MML with peaks hauling coaches.
then when i started secondary school in 1982 i would go down to the station at lunch times.
there were often trains on test from Derby running in between the morning and evening rush and there was still a signal box then but mostly HSTs by then and if you stayed long enough you saw the same few in both directions.
school holidays meant day trips on my own to all the London terminus to watch 50s, 86s, 87s etc
and visits to Grandparents in the New Forest where i'd take the train to Eastleigh and Salisbury, Westbury and even Exeter on my own for the day.

That bit of red on the airscoop didn't convince Lewis?
Its about time that bright yellow front and rear aerofoils on ALL cars were mandated to improve visibility at corners, etc...
yellow front ends?
it will never catch on

two more sinkholes have opened up within five days of each other at Frith Hill in Bucks on the 7th Feb and 12th Feb 2024.
this section of route was originally due to be at surface level.
the bedrock in the area is chalk which is vulnerable to sinkholes

It is a bit like your household or vehicle insurance policy. It is money for nothing until you really, really need it.

But here, the best you could hope for would be something leading to a Level 2 in Public Service.
Got that thanks

Feeder stations from the National Grid can usually feed about 25 miles of track. Eg Ardsley feeds to Doncaster and Leeds. What's the distance from Bletchley to Didcot.
Jamie
What’s the distance to Radley?

Yes huge cost, I would think just getting from Didcot to Oxford would need a new Feeder,
Like the one at Radley?

If an electrified EWR couldn't be fed from the Bletchley end (both normally and under alternative arrangements when a feeder is offline for some reason) then the scheme might need a new feeder of its own in the Oxford area, which could have been fed from the Didcot end had that electrification gone ahead. That's potentially quite a big extra cost.
There is a feeder sat doing nothing halfway between Didcot and Oxford

What would you suggest?
Ban people from having any loose material withim 5 miles of the railway?
Stick it all in a tunnel 🤪

Other than the trials in Glasgow
We had a line drawn on the map roughly from Bristol to the Wash and everything south of it was prioritised for change over and legacy systems switching off.
frequency reuse was a factor
