  1. Hi Does seem to have died off a lot. Possibly down to a lousy exchange rate over the last few years, and possibly down to less interesting Japanese models. Seemed to start with bikes in the late 1980s and was very common in the early 1990s. Cars seemed to come along later. I still fancy an MX5 as a next car. All the best Keith
  2. Possible, but the UK ones seem far from immune. Including the series 2 cars which rarely seem to be around as cheap imports. All the best Keith
  3. One of those lives just round the corner from me. See other ones quite regularly. As to the Eunos having less rust protection, from the stories of the MX5 that would be quite an achievement. All the best Keith
  4. Hi Dreading what mine will be later this year. Mine has stayed pretty static for a few years but it is a pain listing the mods. Think insurance companies are paying out about 90p in ambulance chaser fees for every £1 they pay out in actual claims. With most UK policies bike insurance will not cover the insured injuries. All the best Keith
  5. Hi I would also say to use a text editor . Cleaner code and you also learn how things work in the background. I use Notepad++ which is free and great. Includes syntax highlighting. For uploading to web space I use either Core FTP (the lite version is free) for if using Firefox then FireFTP. All the best Keith
  6. Hi Multipla for me is one of the ugliest, but plenty of other competition including the X6, Peugeot 1007, Smart Four 4 (or is that 4 Four, or For 4?). Heard a story that when Lotus were developing their 2L twin cam engine (used in the Esprit), it was found that the bore centres were the same as the Vauxhall engine. Vauxhall supplied 3 Vivas which had the Lotus cylinder head grafted on to the Vauxhall bottom ends to help with development. Lotus gained some mules while Vauxhall gained some knowledge of how the bottom end would cope with rather more power than it was designed for. Apparently the resulting stock looking vivas were rather rapid. All the best Keith
  7. Think other than paint I have finished my first etched kit. Now to try another and see if I can do a better job of it

That's what worries me; how many kits it'll take before I make one I'm happy with...give me rtr anyday :)

In my case possibly enough to need a few large fresh reels of solder. Never done any before this, and used rather too much at first. Still saves adding ballast weight

  8. Hi Cheers. Working through the Google tutorial videos for Sketchup, but might try Blender as well before I get too into it. All the best Keith
  9. Hi The components posted here are VERY impressive and have got me itching to have a try. I have just downloaded Sketchworks, but I have zero experience of any CAD work (and almost a quarter of a century since I did tech drawing at A level). Can anyone recommend a tutorial to get started with the CAD work, possibly specific to Sketchworks or if recommended some other (preferably free) package. All the best Keith
