This is purely speculation and is not based on any evidence but I do wonder if the long delay in bringing forward new liveries might be due to Oxford Rail retooling the underframe. This is the most easily noticable error to fix and, being a single part, would probably only require one mould to be altered. I am aware of the bogie issue but that would probably be more awkward to fix.
If they do bring out revised under frames, hopefully they will be available as a spare part.
As I said, this is just speculation but it will be interesting to see.

Well my speculation was wrong, the blue/grey version has the same wide underframe.

Does this photo help the Scotrail grey debate?
That version does not seem to have silver window frames, might it be an earlier version?

That's interesting and if true, and we have no reason to doubt it, it means that any pictures without the silver window surrounds do not reflect the latest livery iteration.

you can change any crowdfunded choice for another, and upgrade for sound if you need to.

cheers

Thanks Dave.

Hi Dave
Since the initial announcement, you have made a number of new liveries available. Will there be any opportunity for those who committed to a particular livery (and paid deposits) in response to the original announcement, to "swap" their deposit to a different livery? Similarly will we be able to upgrade to the sound version?
Thanks

No matter which shops you go to, if there is anything in particular you are after, I would suggest getting in touch with them in advance so that they can either order it up for you or put it aside. Most model shops can't have everything in stock all the time and early notification will save disappointment on both sides.
Bets wishes

I did mean wired in parallel.
If wired in series the motors would only get 6 volts each. In parallel they get the full 12volts each.
I have wired two dmu power cars in parallel and it was very smooth running as each power car also had the benefit of pick up from the other power car's wheels.
Even wiring motors in series won't guarantee that they will both run at the same speed. The electric motors might not be exactly the same and different frictional forces in the gear train will also affect the running speed. The differences might not be noticeable to the naked eye but they will still be there.

I think the ScotRail versions are due in October this year.

Have you checked the accessories pack? I've got a vague memory that you had to fit the buffer beam yourself. If the pack is missing, that is possibly why there are no buffer beams.

Can someone please give me the correct R numbers and the correct number of each coach that I need to make a prototypical rake of 8?
Hi Hamish
If I got it right at the time, you will need
R4443 BR Mk3 Buffet car x1
R4440 BR Mk3 first class open coach x2
R4441 BR Mk3 Standard open x5
R4442 BR Mk3 Trailer guard standard x1
Best wishes

The poll only allows a user to vote once, so each member has one vote, so no need to make any corrections, even my simple brain can add up the results
Thanks very much for the explanation.

Wasn't 47 501 Craftsman the Model Rail limited edition?
It's the only "modern" locomotive that I've got, as opposed to BR blue era or earlier. Bought with a subscriber discount.
Jason
It was Jason.

I put yes twice on purpose, I was more interested in the overall number of people who wanted it as opposed to a % or RMWeb members who would want them, lets face it anyone modelling OO would click no if they voted.
Thanks. I presume that there is a set layout for polls and you have to have at least two options. Working out the final result might be awkward as some people might click both yeses whilst others might only click one, hopefully you will be able to identify and apply appropriate corrections to the overall result.

The DRS version was for the north of GB, not just England. I presume Wales and Northern Ireland are also included in other areas.

Should the poll at the start have two options to choose 'yes' or should one of the options be 'no'?

I'm wondering if these decoders don't work so well with some brands of DCC systems (which of course shouldn't be the case) but I'm certainly more than happy with them using NCE Powercab.
It may be that since these decoders seem to be going into used locomotives, that individual locomotives require different settings. A free running well used locomotive would presumably perform better with different settings to one which is tight and needs freeing up. I don't have any p[roof of this but it might explain why some settings work for one particular loco but not for another of the same type and manufacture.

You could apply that to any Hornby model what uses a mazak chassis block.
You could apply that to any model (or anything else) what uses mazak.
Mazak rot is due to impurities in the metal used to make the chassis blocks, it has nothing to do with who or what model model is being made. It can strike any manufacturer if their suppliers let them down.

No notes (English,Scottish or Northern Irish) are legal tender. Only certain coins up to specified amounts are legal tender.

Scotrail ones for Glasgow?

The air intakes are there. They are under the hinged lid. The question is are there any intakes on the opposing bonnet?
P
Why would they put a hinged lid over air intakes? Would it not be more sensible to have them open to the air?
Enclosing the air intakes would reduce the power and efficiency of the engine. The minimum they would have are louvers in the lid so that the air would get to the intakes.

Sorry I did mean to say that, whether or not it works out in the end, your very kind offer to complete the kits is much appreciated.

Rapido/Locomotion Models GNR Stirling Single

They are listed under the "NCIM coming soon" tab on Locomotion Models website. It also says that they will be posted out the week commencing 1 October 2018, so it is presumably a relatively new page.
It would be good if LM updated their front page to remove the out of date information and redundant links for paying balances.
