  1. T.D.E. R.S.H. returns plate wagons to Tynebank yard, they will eventually find their way back to Consett.
  2. Practising re-sizing, seems to work OK, many thanks!!
  3. I need to find a way of reducing the size of the snaps, always seem to exceed 10MB
  4. Checking clearances before I fit the o'head
  5. Well, there you go, just put the finishing touches to kit built J27 (Dave Alexander) and Oxford Rail have announced a RTR. Also recently bought a Mike Edge 48DS and started preliminary work on it, and then Hornby announce a RTR. So if anyone wants a particular prototype RTR let me know and I'll start building a kit for it. Actually I should be grateful that manufacturers are still manufacturing.
  6. Yeah, late 50's with electrification HALs, BILs and NOLs. Steam on freight , Class C mainly. It's going to be a slow build, so don't expect frequent updates! Ian B
  7. Here is 'The Book of Inspiration' If you model anything in our nation's Capital, buy a copy.
  8. Thank-you very much for the suggestions, I did think of somewhere near Erith, as i was a regular visitor there in my Merchant navy days. Ian B
  9. Not, yet, but this sounds interesting, I'll have to give it a look. I spent a lot of time on mainly colliers running up the London River with either Domestic or power coal, I wanted to try and recreate some of the aspects I remember Thanks so much Ian B
  10. Surprisingly we are able to buy cleaning products in the 'Gritty North' I have been using Pledge Multi Surface Wax, seems OK, also used it for ballast adhesive, but not as strong as Klear was, well must away to the river to wash my clothes Ian B
  11. Well a change of direction and location after years of modelling the N.E. of England. I am hoping to produce something based on a supposed ex SER terminal on the south bank of the Thames. I kind of liked the LBSC freight only branch to Depford Wharf and so took the idea of a SER branch from the North Kent East Junction to the bank of the Thames. The terminus has a connection with a domestic coal wharf owned by Corral and an infrequent passenger service. I really wanted to build something based on Port Victoria, but this has been done so much better than I ever could. Space available 7' x 2' Scenic 5' x 2' built in two sections each 5' x 1' This will be a slow burn project as I also Have Tynebank to look after (see elsewhere) I won't be using either of the buildings in the snap.
  12. Derby Lightweight waits Wallside for South Shields to make up a stopper for Sunderland via Boldon, while an EMU awaits for suburban run to The Central. Tried photo in daylight, not so happy. However, I have got the WTT set up on Access, it displays on an Access form, with thanks to John Elliot (The Laird) for the idea, I also have a repeater screen at the South Shields end. Next step full operation session, shame there's only me to play trains, do need two to run it properly. Then just a tinker with the OLE and i think it's finished, time to move on with South Gallions (Sarf of the London River in the 1950's). Watch this space!
  13. It's glory days of hauling ore up to Consett are long gone and apart from an occasional turn banking 63974 has been relegated to trip working. It will be withdrawn in 11/62 along with it's other class mates. (Is it wrong to say I much preferred the previous incarnation of RMWeb, I suppose I will be banned for saying that, ah well, always Western Thunder)
  14. Very much enjoyed watching this layout at Kendal, well done on gettiing the cup! Ian B
