IPA serves me well, wet the reverse side of a small piece of hardboard and rub along the rails. Also good for cleaning wheel backs/pick-up wipers.

Contact Hornby Tech by phone and explain the issue to them.
I had a problem with a steam loco TTS recently and after speaking to Hornby I obtained a replacement via the supplier and all is well now.
My original problem is described here:
Eight of my loco's are fitted with TTS decoders and they all perform well, I would not hesitate to fit further TTS decoders.

Hi, I recently fitted a TTS S15 Class decoder to a Hornby R3423B K1 Class loco, installation was quite easy as there is provision in the tender for the decoder and speaker and all seemed well after testing.
The problem arises when I take the loco out of storage, there is no response until I remove and re-fit the decoder then all is well again until the next operating session when the same procedure starts again.
I went through the process tonight however, this time all was well until I selected sound function 10 which produced a "click" and a hot decoder. All sound functions are now dead although there is still motor control.
I am using an Elite with the latest upgrade V1.44.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Agree with Richard's comment, I have recently fitted my 37 with a TTS using one of Richard's adapters and very pleased with it.

That last shot looks rather strange, the driving wheels show rotation yet the front pony truck wheels appear stationary.
Still, always enjoy looking at your layout pics, keep them coming.

An unusual video for me because it's steam rather than diesel. It's a Hornby TTS 4F with a small bass reflex speaker. It's got loads of sound features and I've tried to use a lot of them in the video.

I wasn't aware they made a chip for the 4F, quite impressive. Is it available now?

New drawbars are available, so all is not lost.

Hope this helps.

Bure valley models have some bargains on.
Always worth a look, they do good prices and seem to not sell out of stuff too quickly.
As usual no connection just a happy customer.

Thanks for that Nik, couldn't resist a Hornby 08 with TTS at £120.00

I was thinking about purchasing some of their colour light signals, can I ask if any members have had any experience with this company and what is the quality of the product?

Thanks in advance.

Express have "discontinued" selling Patronics so perhaps an email to them may uncover a reason as to why - if in fact they have stopped trading then that's probably your answer.
I guess they are quite dated by today's standards and perhaps they have just called it a day?
Thanks again.

What Patronics products were you looking for?
Express Models are selling the lamps http://www.expressmodels.co.uk/acatalog/Street___Station_Lighting.html
Signals show up on Ebay from time to time too.
Thanks for your quick response but it was signals I was particularly looking for.

Does anyone know if they are still trading, tried a goggle search but proved fruitless.
Thanks in advance.
