  1. The first visitor for the 2019 Legends of Industry gala at the Tanfield Railway has just been announced ... Great Western Raway No. 813 will be returning to the North East as Backworth Colliery No. 12 in the condition it first arrived in Northumberland during 1934. Expect further announcements on visiting locos in the next few days. More information here: https://www.tanfield-railway.co.uk/index.php?page=legends-of-industry-gala-2019
  2. Volunteer signwriter David is busy burning the midnight oil to have No. 60 ready for the weekend right now.
  3. Mentioned above, so thought it might be worthy of a post with picture. Another vehicle that should be taking part in the Legends of Industry gala on June 16/17 is freshly restored carriage NCB No. A15. It’s a former North Eastern Railway bogie Carriage dating from 1901 restored in the guise of a vehicle as would have been seen on the National Coal Board Ashington system in the late 1940s and early 1950s. It was out on a test run with Twizell after the timetabled train service earlier this weekend and is now almost ready for traffic. A15 is due to make its public debut at the gala.
