  1. i sent my letter b4 yours Martin i havnt had a reply either mind you that be a very quick responce in my eyes i have a time frame of 28 days if they was going to reply to me? Be nice if they do but i be more happy if they concentrate on the issues at hand, you have every right to feel the way you feel about your 4 Vep and anybody else which are in a simular situation! there is no doubnt in my mind i be feeling the same if i went down the same route as you. lets not forget because of you and others helped to get the warning signals out there on this forum b4 i even got my model and help other modellers/hobbyiest which i am 1 is very grateful all the best from Steve OT what do you think of my new updated pics of my weathering efforts? http://www.rmweb.co....__fromsearch__1
  2. thank you so much for posting the video because i really wanted to see this video after your comments on your 4 Vep i am very encourage to see it runs on curves at speed and low speed also this is brilliant i like to think i am a fair person in life and this stance does indeed work good towards my feelings to Hornby i am sure and now hoping maybe on the next batch of 4 VEP will all be as good as yours on your layout hopefully Quality Control from Hornby could make this happen without a big problem to them on every train on the market in due course. i am even tempted to get another soon as long as i can see it work b4 i buy from a store yeah thats great Venator i am glad this really does put another light on the Hornby4 VEP and maybe more could come from them i am now feeling good i will have a 4 vep with my NSE 2EPBs soonish now All the best from Steve
  3. all i know in the future i will not be calling anybody a pro modeller no more i am on no 1s side but i do think Venator words was just something some of us say "including me" without any thought and certainly not to degrade anybody at the same time, its more you can do a lot more then me when my skills are not like someone's else's ie much better braver cutting face ends off, changing motors changing anything from a original model and when i am a newbie in a hobby too but watching this "word" gone into a bit of stir, i now can see why on the other hand why someone doesnt like to be called a pro modeller i wouldnt even gave it a 2nd thought but watching this i know i will not be using that word in the future randomly, 1 thing for sure i am picking up so much knowledge on this forum in this short period of time, sometimes very overwelming at times, I only put my 1st DCC decoder in a train last week b4 that time i paid for it to get done also anybody which could do that was a pro in my eyes , Stevie is getting more braver each week with his hobby thanks to this forum anyway its gone off topic lets get it back to the matter in hand 4 VEP's all the best from Steve
  4. love the 12 car!!! really like it thanks for posting the video
  5. thats great information Venator i love to see a video of your working model if that is ok and the 2epb working together maybe post it on here if you can because i am sure others would like to see the video all the best from Steve
  6. i was thinking is there anybody on this forum which have a fully running 4VEP? where the member is 100% happy with their train?? ie running out of the box with NO modifications was necessary, i thought it meight be a good way to see how this issue balances out with all forum members storys all the best
  7. i was disappointed that my 4 vep wouldnt go round the track same thing in my eyes hence why i sent back for a full refund
  8. Hi Simon just to let you and others know my letter was sent today it was no way as in depth as yours Simon but hopefully it will reinforce customer issues with the 4 VEP all the best
  9. Hi to be fair i do have a class 50 and another diesel from Hornby and none have been a problem with me i understand your view it totally blow confidence however i do think if they take this 4vep issue actually " 4vep issues" in due course we all can be happy customers again maybe i alway look on the bright side of life but hopefully they do something now for a sing song "always look on the bright side of life do do do" all the best
  10. Simon have you got a link to the ad photos please thanks in advance from Steve
  11. on reflection of this i do a letter as well i think and send it out tomorrow i do mine in simple terms ie purchased put on track it kept derailing on my corners however my other Hornby and Bachmann trains run fine with no problems sorry to say i had to sent back to dealer for a refund because i was seeing other issues being metioned online so i didnt want a replacement at this stage however i would re buy once i know there is a full working 4vep in the future once issues have been rectified by yourselfs
  12. S.A.C Martin i think you trying to get your model working and not giving up on 1st base was a great topic to read and watching you doing diffrent things to try and get it working was a asset to yourself i think the moans are justified personly and i am not botherd by it 1 bit and i sure most or everybody will be the same as me. i think its a shame how much this cost has come to a not a satisfactory end for you and i mean that because i see you have done a lot more that i could of dreamed of doing myself i think you are in your right to say something to Hornby however will end up going on deaf ears is anybodys guess but maybe just maybe it meight not All the best from Steve
  13. once again thanks S.A.C Martin with your updates Saturday in Folkestone i talked to a Hornby rep about the 4vep he said there has been a handfull of problems with the 4vep fair play to the man he said sorry for the situation and quality control will see the issues in due course so maybe just maybe gc4946 you may be right on the 2nd run, fingers crossed with us which want a no fuss running 4 vep however a board member on here has got his 4 vep running which i witnessed in the flesh on Saturday and did look good i must say but did have to do some work on his, all the best from Steve
  14. Hi gang just to say your display was amazing today in Folkestone also thanks for the tips of weathering the trains Hampshire Hog great to chat and put neme to faces etc i really did love the detail on your trains even more so on the NSE range and i urge anybody in the Folkestone area to pop by on Sunday to the leas cliff hall because when you see the trains in real life it makes all the diffrence IMO all the best from Steve and Emma
  15. i was at Bluewater Shopping Center yesterday i had a look around in Modelzone they had the blue 4 vep there, it was nice to see it in the flesh because i seen the NSE version but not the blue train since yesterday, hope it all works out for you i am still enjoying reading this post watching and reading peoples journey on mods on the 4VEP All the best from Steve
  16. being a Private Investor on the London Stock Exchange i have today pointed out the 4 vep issues on a forum board which has some Hornby Shareholders I think its wise to point this out to them because lets face it if there is a problem they need to know and they have more clout on Hornby to get the situation sorted and i do think its a better route then lets say myself sending a e-mail to Hornby lets hope they get it sorted 1 way or another because if i was a Hornby Shareholder i wouldnt want a few mistakes like this going on unnotice on my investment all the best from Steve
  17. i still think there is a market for a fully running and maybe a more detailed "corrected issues" 4 vep in due course in various liveries all i want is a working train and no hassle 4 vep, Im not asking for much i dont think? I am sure i am not alone on this statement i would buy again in a heartbeat if 1 come up with nearly all issues corrected in due course from Hornby. So Hornby this is 1 customer which will buy your train if all sorted however if Bachmann did the same i think you may of lost the market in the future on these trains its really down to Hornby as a company what they are going to do i think in this situation all the best from Steve
  18. i better pop my head in he! he! all the best and i will say hello
  19. Folkestone yay my town hello everybody i just seen this thread reading another thread on NSE simular to S.A.C. Martin i am building a late 80s and a very early 90s Layout i have been looking at the thread today with great intrest today some of the photos on this thread has really helped to refresh my mind can i ask what is going on next weekend in Folkestone? all the best from newbie Steve
  20. oh wow in a bad way nr a hour later now i am very sad to report the following it does not get round the track does not matter how i refigure the train even tried weight on coaches but the front coach allways die rails on certain points on the layout its not 1 but multi locations it does this where i have been a loyal customer to my train dealer they have a track record with all my trains and i never had a problem with any of mine i have 5 trains with sounds from them "some have been exclusive" where i have to buy else where and then send to them to do the sound for me and sadly this Hornby is not going round my layout also i now can see its only minor i would of lived with it but the front light in orange is silly it needs to be a white led instead, the over all quailty we both agreed with the dealer is not as detailed as Bachmann for example and fair play to my dealer hence why i always stick with them, i like to be loyal,he said send it back and we get you a full refund, they send it back to Hornby and maybe they sort the issues out in due course then i may rethink of getting 1 in the future when everything is sorted out maybe?!!?!?!?! Bachmann please please do a NSE CEP and JAFFA because at least i know yours go round with ease and look better in detail however weathering would of helped the Hornby loads to the eye i like to be fair and honest so if you want my advice guys and girls "WAIT B4 YOU BUY!" because if you want a fully working train its not the ticket yet sadly at least i got my Bachmann NSE 2EPB with sound now so i can weather that coach now because i sent the front coach to get sound fitted, I did my check to make sure it goes round my track and it runs like a beauty like the rest of them kind regards from Steve
  21. Mine just come and taken a few photos to share with others for now on 1st looks i am pretty pleased to be fair however i will be testing on the track in due course and report back later on today this is the bit i am dreading "fingers crossed for Steve" speak soon
  22. @ S.A.C Martin and John M Upton i have a feeling i am going to be a bit nervey when mine comes i have spent a small fortune with a soundchip and i want it running perfectly hence spending over £250 can i ask what can i use to replace the traction tyres if they are as bad as they sound? i have a link to air horns on this thread the front end i am sure i be fine with weathering and pencil missing door handle does not bother me personly so can leave that is there anything on the market to make the coaches look more linked externally , like the real versions "ie when you walk from coach to coach" i would love to upgrade my Bachmanns class 411 cep at the same time if there is? thats about it i think thanks in advance from Steve
