  1. I fear that is the case for me. Doesn't explain why the TTS decoders are all fine.
  2. Had already sent 1 back to shop who sent replacement which is exactly the same. That's what made me think I was setting up wrong.
  3. Once fitted the decoder and placed on the track it run uncontrollably with no control from the handset. Same for three DCC ready Hornby Railroad engines. Controller is the Roco complete system. Cannot read back with the Multimaus so looking to simply programme. Already fitted 4 TTS sound decoders with no problems.
  4. I run my layout with a Roco Multimaus controller. Recently bought a Hornby R8249 decoder and cannot manage to get to run a selection of Hornby DCC ready locos. Any advice if there is a compatability issue between the controller and chip, or is there any CV adjustment I can make to the CVs.
  5. Thanks. My spotting days in 1980 ish was like most daytime so sleepers were rarely seen.
  6. I am referring to the marshalling booklets for information of rakes for modelling. The order the coaches are listed - does that reflect accurately the order the coaches were in reality. In other words, is the top coach always the first behind the loco or were they more generic and random. For example on the overnight Aberdeen to London KC services they list either TSO / RMB coaches to be detached at Edinburgh first, but not sure if that means behind loco.
  7. Thanks. So the longer rakes of sleepers would have been the Kings Cross to Aberdeen. I believe they poss had coaches added at Edin Waverley.
  8. I am looking to model Scottish Internal sleeper service from Edinburgh to Aberdeen circa 78 - 82. Aware most will be through service from Kings Cross. Looking to use 4 or 5 mk1 sleepers but like to know what other coaches would complete a compacted 7 or 8 coach rake.
  9. Thanks, excellent link to an excellent selection of pics - one question though. Was the FO and BSO the same as the TSO shown in the picture.
  10. Modelling BR blue / grey livery circa 1979 - 1980 or thereabouts. Was wondering if the TSOs, BSOs and FOs had the same end details.
  11. thanks for the information. This will help - will look at finding the book.
  12. I am detailing Lima and Airfix Mk2d and e/f coaches. I am looking for reference pics or information on the end detailing. I will be buying Fox transfers or similar but need to see where exactly the C1, data panels etc should be placed. Hope for some help.
  13. I am building a rake of Lima Mk2 e/f coaches. I will run i with a Bachmann BG full brake at one end, and a restaurant car in the rake. As always, the problem I have is the couplings. I woiuld appreciate help in the best way to gain closer and safer connection between the coaches. Kadee is an option within the rake but I do not want to convert all stock. Is it possible to to have NEM style couplings fitted to a Lima bogie.
