So I appear to be back on this forum, after a long break from the hobby...
A lot of my stock has been sat in boxes, and the boards from my last, very incomplete layout were sat in my Grandad's loft. During Lockdown he decided to give them a little extension and lay some more track which he'd bought off ebay, waiting for me to return to the hobby, and here I am.
Cornbrook Street is a modern image loft layout, currently 16'x4'3" with a 5'x2' spur. It's primarily set in the North West of England, n the suburbs of Greater Manchester, with stock mostly able to be grouped into 3 operating time zones; 1998-2003, 2007-2010 and 2017-2020. I've been putting together this spreadsheet of my stock to work out what I can run with what, but it's pretty incomplete. If anyone has any extra information, I'd love to be able to add it.
Control is DCC, via a Bachmann Dynamis Ultima, with all of it's horrible wireless connection issues.
We've made some further changes since then, and so here's a few pictures to show where we're up to currently;
But we're having an electrical issue again. A few days ago, we had trains running in both directions, but one of the wires for the DCC bus came loose. Having resoldered it to the track, now whenever a train crosses the point at either A or B on the outside loop, it simply sits in this section as if it has no power. However, it must have power because the tail lights pulse on and off. Any suggestions as to what could be causing it?
I'm also having a bunch of different stock problems, but we'll get into that another time...
