  1. Lots of lovely eye candy here. Thanks for sharing guys!
  2. She is very pro trains. It gives me something to work to, whether or not I will make it remains to be seen!
  3. Thanks Phil. I'm looking forward to having the civils complete. My batch of track has been collected by my better half from the post office so I can work on track laying before long.
  4. Fantastic stuff Phil. Thanks very much for sharing!
  5. Very true. I'm still tempted to keep Sophie manual as it is rather nice to be able to put an engine on the line and just let it run round while I do some gardening.
  6. Great stuff Pinzer. Looking forward to seeing how this ends up.
  7. Excellent stuff Pinzer. Indeed, no rush to steam her, and we are all really looking forward to seeing her once you have worked your magic. Proper rivets eh? PHOWAR!
  8. Aye, no point rushing these things. You could always take a few pictures and then mock up several possibilities on your computer to see what tickles your fancy? I have been known to do that in the past.
  9. Thanks chaps. No end date as of yet, I am back at work so its as and when I can I guess. The mother in law is visiting at the beginning of June so I am hoping that I will have the civils out the way and some track down, but we'll have to wait and see what happens. I'll keep plugging away at it.
  10. Great stuff Phil, love the wagon loads. How did you make the cable drums?
  11. The bank holiday weekend saw a small amount of progress with the railway. Sunday was spent pointing up the remaining blocks, adding the two blocks for the engine shed area (with one requiring major surgery) and putting the first pier in for the next length of blocks. Unfortunately that is as far as I got, and I'm out every evening this week and away next weekend, so there will be a slight pause in proceedings. Ah well! 12. Great stuff Phil. I am surprised that compensation/springing really hasn't made it to our scale yet considering the benefits it has in our scale and the rough track. I might have to further investigate this..
  13. Great stuff NM. The black really suits it. Is the intention to line her?
  14. Love the cab back Pinzer, and nice paint job with the cab. Looking alot better already. Have you steamed her yet?
  15. Good stuff Pinzer. It probably means that either there wasn't one or it has been removed. Never mind, it won't affect its running!
  16. Oh right. I did not know that. Very interesting! Progress is looking good Tony. The curve looks particularly neat. Being neat and careful with the track work pays dividends in the long run.
  17. Lovely loco there Pinzer. Fantastic! I hope it brings many happy years of steaming. She looks to be an older generation one, you can tell by the square valve chests on top of the cylinders. I think those older ones prefer ISO 460 steam oil, but I would give Roundhouse a phone call, they will be able to tell you. I like the idea of running boards - improve the look no end. Think locoworks maybe able to help. http://www.locoworks.co.uk/locoworks-detail/roundhouse/roundhouse-jack Any questions don't be afraid to ask, and I look forward to seeing it trundle round. Right, why is it not covered in sh*t already? It would look even more at home then on the McMullen Coal Company line.
  18. You swine! Definitely a box with a dog in it! I will have a look out for that then!
  19. Bridge looks fantastic. Why the car seam sealer? Is it particularly good at sticking things down? Hmm, I reckon there is nothing in the box, its just something for the dog to climb in and out of! Or maybe its another Hamster cage.... Oh and I see you've been getting things from Italy to! "Fragile" seems to be a popular pitstop for parcels...
  20. Not sure yet. I will in places, but the area I have been working on will turn into hard standing. I need to cast some concrete supports first before I can think about 'beautifying' it.
  21. Managed an hour in the garden last night, concentrating on pointing the blocks I laid last year. IMAG0862 by Matthew Jones, on Flickr IMAG0863 by Matthew Jones, on Flickr IMAG0864 by Matthew Jones, on Flickr But in sad news my bucket has died. IMAG0865 by Matthew Jones, on Flickr
  22. Hi Tony. Didn't they modify Flying Scotsman to be able to run in Australia? Also with the RORO ship, could you not model it just above the waterline, or are you planning on making one you can sail?
  23. Sounds good to me. Probably a good place to start getting your teeth into.
  24. Thanks very much chaps! SWMBO was out at the time, but I did get complaints about the smell and the fact that there were wagons on the draining board. I did point out that if it weren't for me there wouldn't be a kitchen let alone a kitchen sink. Didn't go down well. With regards to the piers and the level, that took alot of time and swearing to get right. But thanks for the compliment!
