The factory Heljan uses is just for making model railways.

The a4s are in production still so it would be quite straight forward to make extra hand rails now.rather than get a drone of complaints later .fitting afew hand rails is easy. I've meet young moddlers. Who can do it so an adult can .I'll willingly fit them for any one.and yes free of charge way because I can and I enjoy helping others.

We are suppose to be modlers. Fitting hand rails is no big job.and thay all ready have them .thay are the same on the tender.so won't b a major job for Hattons to supply them.

Hattons did say that thay missed them off .so I don't think it would affect your warranty..if you where to fit the hand rails thay left off .some of the a3s have been sent back after people have had them in bits to fit dcc. And no problem thay are a good firm to deal with when it comes to returens.

No still no vertical cab handrails on the a4 . Lets hope that Hattons pop a bag in the box with matching handrails .that would be a good move .the we can fit them please Hattons would you.

Well done to Hattons the production a4 mallard as preserved will have correct paint job on the cab roof .much better than pr production sample.

Has anyone noticed that the a3 cab is rivet perfect .thay got that spot on.

Heljan most probably rerun them after a few years anyway. Most other manufacturers do so .

If that is the case that the a3s suppose to be limited editions. Then way a rerun of 60103 .Then not that limited are thay .

On rails web site it clearly states Heljan .I know hattons is wholesale but thay where suppose to be exclusively hattons .

I would say I am lucky that my fs runs nice .I totally striped mine down and rebuilt it now bits n bobs all fit nice a fiddley job but worth time that it took all day . Soon be finished with the cosmetic up grades . Photos to come when its done.

Great to see that Dave from Hattons has responded .lets hope that Hattons would be able to provide sum hand rails that match the a4s.that we can fit if we wish to do so thank

Considering that Hattons Dave stated the blogs off ,one would expect him to take on board what's being said before production started .I read lots of comments on fb and lots of people pointed out inaccuracies. Did the read what we all put .I think this is a valid point.

May be time to recall the a3s as so many people are experiencing valve gear failers not a good start for what should have been the best mass produced a3 on the market the a4 seems so far set to be the same its a shame when you look at them a bit more time and research would have done the job as look wise thay aint to bad

Totally agree stop sales sort problems then put them up for sale just cart get my head round way thay forgot such a basic and obvious thing like the hand rail and the valve gear ain't up to much how Hattons say that thay run one of the a3s for 17 hours is beyond me

Then there is the problem of matching heljans paint if we have to buy our own hand rails as that paint is nothing like railmatch colours so buy paint buy hand rails and hand rail knobs then drill and glue all these bits on with all this said one would think Hattons would comment or lower the price or put together a kit of parts for those who purchase them free gratis that would go halfway to make up for a sad mistake

The a4s don't even come with the hand rail to fit just beggars belief and as Hattons said to late yet what I asked them where to find the bits to do a sit job on them thay simply said don't know what dos that say realy I would have hoped for a more positive response not only that the paint jobs have problems but no point telling Hattons as thay realy don't seam to want to listen looks like thay have taken one person's view and just run with it
