  1. Hi Dave,

I found the blog following your directions. The layout is really top class and the guy who did the station building has done an incredible job. I never saw it with the canopy but it looks spot on.

That's a very nice Fowler 2 6 2. I built one from A Chowbent kit for my brother. Its a very nice kit with lovely brass casting. It was built pre digital camera and smart phone so I don't have any digital images. I must take some. I'll press on now.

    Cheers.

  2. Hi Dave,

Thanks for pointing me to your blog in the last PM.

The Caprotti 5 is a stunning piece of work. Considering our conversation in the PMs, the level of detail is incredible. I simply could not achieve that in 4mm. Fantastic!

It's very rare I look at blogs on here, but it's clear (if yours is anything to go by), that I'm missing some excellent stuff.

    Cheers,

    Peter

  3. Hello Ray, I found it very interesting reading this thread after spending so long building the Seven Models O gauge kit. Somewhat disappointing to see the "dumming down" of detail levels compared to the Britannia and the more recent Clan models. I guess that the costs of fitting separate items (by hand, which means labour intensive)must be rising in China.

That's a definite improvement on the boiler handrail, but I note that the whistle manifold also appears too low, and the reversing lever goes up under the footplate too soon. It should extend further back to the bracket between the middle and rear driving wheels. Apologies if these have already been mentioned.

    Cheers,

    Peter
