I had a FGW one, bought last year, which had some running problems. I contacted the shop, Kernow, who asked South West Digital for their input; it was the chip, now adjusted, and it runs OK.

What a range this is turning out to be, and quite a challenge for the company. Really looking forward to seeing the finished result. Likely 3 for me.

Excellent news. I hope the 92 goes retail once it has arrived and initial orders done.

Picked up a copy and I'm delighted with it. Some smashing pics and it has certainly filled in some gaps in my knowledge.

Will sound versions be released?

Fabulous announcement for those modelling north of the border. I switched away from my 1980s ScotRail layout last autumn, so this opportunity has gone for me, but I do like the look of the DRS offerings.

Apologies, my last post turned out to be a pigs ear. I'llgo and have a lie down now.

Instead of replying to everyone I will attempt to aid understanding of what I have said
I am a student and contrary to popular belief I am poor
This is a shame as I do really enjoy this hobby and to all you *beep* holes who are saying dont buy the trains is that really a logical option
And I am not angry at the companies as I understand inflation but I feel that maybe sometimes no matter how much you want something sometimes it's too much to pay

The exception to this is Lima & lesser detailed Hornby kits.

I do prefer this way of announcing products. Hopefully it will also allow Bachmann to catch up on the manufacturing schedule without people getting upset over the waiting times.

Looking at second hand listings from the big retailers, there is a dearth of modern diesel/electric sets coming up for resale, probably because there's not too many available new. There are some older diesels around but the large majority are steam locos.

Has anyone heard when the next batch is due to hit the shops? As the first delivery quickly sold out, the suggestion was January for the next, but we're fast approaching February.

Sort of covered above. If you are buying a Hattons 66 then you should be a modeller (my personal view), if you aren’t then maybe the Hattons 66 isn’t what you need, try Bachmann or Hornby.
In the quest for fidelity and detail then separately fitted parts WILL fall off from time to time, that’s a fact.
Can’t wait for mine to arrive and do some modelling on them.I find this quite offensive. How can you know the individual modeller's situation? I had hoped to buy a few Hatton's 66 models, but am put off by the thought of spending upwards of £260 on a loco, expecting to have to glue bit on, so yes that means I'll stick with Bachmann. On your logic I'm therefore not worthy of calling myself a modeller?
After suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis for many years, my hands really struggle with small detail and some work on the layout. Refixing fallen axle boxes may simply be too difficult for me to do.

How about a Network Rail DBSO.
Very likely as a few months ago I had one repainted & weathered into NR livery!

Rarely has "you can't please all of the people all of the time" been more appropriate than this thread.

Still no Electrostar. Shame.
An ambitious programme, but no new tooling for modern DMU/EMUs, so I'm disappointed.

The area I think is most underrepresented is the modern third rail EMUs, with only the 450 available to model lets. While I would like a 444 or 442, realistically the Electrostar would offer the most options to the manufacturer. That said I'm not holding my breath!

I'm thinking of adding 3rd rail to an existing layout. My hands aren't suited to fine work as I have arthritis, so I'm looking for a simple an option as possible. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Please 'no' - a yellow one would be lovely, but let those who want it weathered do that themselves and make a much better (than factory) job and those that want it pristine have an option too!
Problem is that yellow seems to be the most difficult colour to replicate in model form, to give a realistic appearance.
-
I'm only guessing here, but maybe not everyone reads every thread, nor has time to search for all options. I for one wasn't aware of the bargain hunters option.

Let's enjoy the fact they are here now. We can look forward to the 150s, 166s & 170s soon I hope.

Is it planned that the rerun will offer factory fitted sound?

I read this thread hoping to learn more about the new locos, but all I'm finding is discussion around the legalities of declarations on YouTube videos. I'll just wander off and get a coffee then.

As a rule I don't take a lot of notice of people mouthing off about nothing, but why are we nit picking about a video?
Give it 2 or 3 weeks and you can do your own
Couldn't agree more. If I'm spending north of £150 then I'll make the call as to the model being as I want it.

Fair point, but it’s a long way from here to Liverpool.....I wonder where nearest stockist to wiltshire is
A few of our local shops stock Hattons products, so worth asking at your nearest stockist.
