      I can highly recommend the ESU ECoS system. It is fantastic and easy to use. Highly recommended to start off with :)

      Thanks for more advice. I will go and look at the ESU system. I have various basic criteria for my choice such as: likely to be around in the long-term, upgradeable and flexible for growth of layout, high level of compatibility with other systems, good after-sales support, ease of use, high level of functionality under the NMRA DCC standard and, of course, price is an important consideration. Maybe I am asking for too much in one product? I have to say that there do seem to be too many pr...

      Oops ... my comment was too long and got truncated ... sorry. My final sentence just said that there seem to me to be too many products for the market and I would expect only one or two to survive in the long-term.
