  1. Fantastic stuff Allan, thank you for sharing. Ollie.
  2. Not had much modelling time of late, but the West End module is just about finished, weathering need on each roof. Ollie.
  3. I find that hard to believe Allan! When I need a bit of inspiration I have a read at my photocopies of your early Railway Modeller articles. I have copied unashamedly your ideas and suggestions from these and your other articles. Plus you would finish ten high streets in the time it takes me to do one building. Thanks everybody for all you kind likes, etc. Ollie.
  4. The High Street John Ahern’s high street really intrigued me the way it curved round into the distance and was the inspiration for my high street. The buildings are based on those in the area around Kelso Square. Initial concept. How it turned out. Ollie.
  5. Here is the latest build. Based on the United Free church in Gordon in the Scottish Borders. The initial part was built in 1843 with the red sandstone porch tower and belfry added in 1893. Ollie.
  6. Hi Allan, I can died happy now, a review by the Master!! Yes, having read one of your posts, realise it should be the other way up. It's on the list to do. Thanks for your comments. Ollie.
  7. Thank you for your kind comments. This has had a long gestation. Started drawing up the buildings in Pagemaker 6.5 some 18 years ago and make some paper mock ups to see how it would all fit together. Then work and other commitments and a house move intervened, and as they say the years took wings. Now retired I stated once more a couple of years ago. With another house move planned, and not knowing what space will be available for the layout, I decided to make individual modules that can be dropped in. Started with the goods yard to try out techniques with plasticard and weathering. Then having found out all the pitfalls regarding warping and the like started on the town, here are some more photos. As there are on average 20 - 40 hours per model I sometimes seek some light relief. We have miniature Shetland pony called Henry, a character and evil personified. So when Montys brought out their Shetland casting I just had to make a little diorama for Henry. Ollie.
  8. Have been plodding away building the town for my Polwarth layout. About 80% finished and this is the progress to date. The architecture is based on the Scottish Borders mainly around Kelso. Ollie.
  9. I had severe bloating and pains for months, did the York blood test and found that yeast was the main problem along with diary and wheat. Since cutting all that lot out feel totally different and lost a stone, which as badly needed. The NHS seem unable to to cope with anything apart from a blood test for gluten. Ollie.
