I think the answer is no but I just need to check. I am new to DCC and have a Hattons 2 function decoder and MERGCAB2. Is it possible to program braking (when pressed) onto one of the functions? I am starting to use DecoderPro if that helps Thank you

I have been looking to build a model railway for some time ( the last was in 1985). I am looking at Barnton as it is near where I stay, It is a good size. Through research I can get the track plan (attached), the locos, rolling stock, buildings etc. My question and reason for this post is. How do I find out about the operation of the railway. What was the timetable? What sort of freight ran? What were the operations - it looks like a simple run round, I presume the loco took on water but what about coal? Also presume the layover was short. I would be very grateful to anyone who can point me towards where I can look for this information.
