  1. I seem to remember seeing 47 606 Odin quite a bit as in the image below.  47 618 Fair Rosamund also sticks in the memory.  Cardiff or Old Oak allocated were the most common.

As most of the 47s came in on inter-regionals pretty much any of the eth fitted ones could turn up.  A selection from the mid to late 80s (I have not scanned all my 1988 - 1990 collection yet)

    47 565 - another Cardiff one

  2. Eagles fan since seeing them play the Bills at Wembley in 1991.  Been to many games at the Vet, a regular of the infamous 700 section!  Most enjoyable game for me was when we stopped Emmitt Smith on 4th and 1 twice late in the 4th Quarter and went on to beat the hated Cowboys.  Got to enjoy it for a second time when I got home and found Gary Imlach had picked it as his game of the week and it was on the Channel 4 highlights!  Still have the VHS video somewhere..

  3. I know I don't have to pay £50 ontop of the model then get the £50 back, I just wanted to know if I reserve the model with the £50 but then when they arrive I can't afford the last £129, that I would at least be able to get my £50 back

Distance Selling Regulations mean that you can cancel your order up to 14 days after you have received it (it used to be 7 but has recently been extended to 14) and receive your money back and postage in full.  You may be responsible for the cost of returning the model if you cancel after you have received it.  So unless the NRM are going to breach the law then you can get your £50 back if you change your mind for any reason whatsoever.  This of course only applies if you ordered either by phone, post or website.  If you ordered in person at Shildon you are not covered by these regulations and it would then be at their discretion if you changed your mind.

  4. Hi guys

Not long now until the launch of our new super duper exclusive model in conjunction with Bachmann.

Around lunchtime on Tuesday 29th all the juicy details will be on the website, or, if you are not too far away, come along and see for yourself! (We will have an ep sample of the new model on display )

I can guarantee most of you will absolutely love it!! ( I say most 'cos we can't please everyone!)

Or you can just read the NRM advert in Model Rail and see the answer right now!

  5. Truro - Falmouth is the branch concerned.

There is always the difficulty of getting these schemes off the ground to begin with.  Frequency is definitely the key but you cannot start with a high-frequency service from day 1 unless you have a very very big pot of cash available.  As long as nothing is done that precludes future enhancement schemes you have to start somewhere and you can go back and add upgrades as required.  Bathgate would be a good example of this.

  6. I believe signalling complications was one reason cited for the Far North trains no longer splitting at Georgemas Junction.  They operate on RETB rather than a traditional token and one-train working but units from opposite directions would still have to be admitted to the same platform with nothing to precent a head-on collision.  As with Gunnislake traffic levels don't always support more than a 2-car train either though in summer they most certainly do.

It was to save running two units together that the splitting ceased.  The RETB worked happily for a number of years prior to Class 156s being brought in.

  7. Not necessarily the same time.

It would only need both the Bere Alston - Gunnislake and Bere Alston - Tavistock return trips to be achievable within an allowance sufficient to make return departures from Bere Alston to Plymouth fit into a clock-face template.

If one had to wait for the other in Bere Alston for a few minutes on the way back, it would actually be beneficial. Any and all procedures that can be devised to couple up units begin with one being at a stand. If the same one always arrives first, it ensures a consistent operating approach is applied to all trains.

Sorry, I don't think I made it clear enough what I meant.  What you say is of course correct, but at present the journey from Bere Alston to Gunnislake takes 18 minutes.  The planned journey time from Bere Alston to Tavistock is only projected to take 9 minutes.  You can get an hourly Tavistock service in (as confirmed by CK above with conditions) but you will not be able to get the unit from Bere Alston to Gunnislake and back in time to connect with this.  It won't even work for a 90 minute service.

  8. Hi Andy Y,  Perhaps you would be kind enough to return my posts which you found irrelevant so that they can be used in the correct forum. The title of this forum makes no mention of Bachmann so seemed a perfect place for comments about any SR Pillbox brakevan    Regards  adrianbs

No mention of Bachmann in the title of this forum?

    RMweb

Seems quite clear it is Bachmann to me...

  9. I rather doubt the original price indication on one retailers site of £21+ for the version with the tank is going to be anywhere near the actual figure.

As Bachmann have never given an RRP for the Warflat whatever price indication that retailer has given is basically made up!  A similar thing has been done with the Brighton Atlantic which cannot possibly be anywhere near the made up price.

  10. Peco decided not to proceed after Dapol brought their masts out with promises of a full range to follow.  With the benefit of hindsight perhaps Peco should have continued...

  11. From the Distance Selling Regulations

Your customers’ duty to take care of goods

When a customer returns the goods to you in accordance with the contract, the customer must take reasonable care to ensure that you receive the goods and that the goods are not damaged in transit. If the customer does not exercise reasonable care and the goods are damaged, you may have a claim against them for breach of this duty. If a customer fails to return the goods despite being required to by the contract, then you may have a claim against the customer for breach of contract.

If you have not provided the required information, you cannot charge anything, even if it is in your contract.

You cannot charge for returns if the goods are faulty or do not comply with the contract or order.
