A slight geographical correction. Mt. Victoria is at the rear of the photo. The cable car runs up to the suburb of Kelburn.

Hattons customers in New Zealand have received the same email so its not confined to just the ATO, the IRD are over it as well. Mark's & Spencer were tax free to NZ until a couple of years ago too.
It's more expensive for Kiwis as our GST rate is 15%.
I've dealt with Hattons for 50 years and have always received excellent service. Their trunk facility was great for saving postage so this is quite a shame.

Simon

How much, please?
If it helps, I run my Torquay Manor on DCC and the performance is superb.
I tried it on my grandson's Hornby trainset which according to the maker produces 19 v DC @ 0.5 amps. Performance was to say the least sub optimal...😉

Has anyone been brave enough to take the loco body off from the chassis? That is my biggest worry when the time comes to
service the model. I feel it is very important for a model to be serviceable in order for it to give a lifetime of reliable running.
I'm sure Sam will show us...🙃

If AccuraScale did an original greed D5572, I wonder how many folks “of a certain age” would buy one to remember their first train set?! I love my Freightliner set - and a long and slippery slope began 🤣🤣🎉
I’d probably buy one
How about Accurascale recreating the original trainset? 😀

Hi McC
Not sure if the question has been brought up before, forgive me if it has.
I get the idea that the V5 sound decoders installed in your class 37 locos have been specifically produced for yourselves by ESU (Even my ESU ECoS cannot recognise decoder as a V5 Loksound!)
Are all the CVs the same as a normal V5 Loksound decoder or do they differ on your ESU V5?
Regards
John
Yes, I had all sorts of problems getting my ESU cab Control to recognise the V5 Loksound in my Deltic! Got there in the end, but what a mission.

I have recently completed a double track junction using Peco Unifrog track. I configured it as dead frog just to see how it worked knowing I could liven the frogs if required.
Have to say the track performs faultlessly and "does what it says on the tin". I have a selection of locomotives consisting of all the major brands (soon to add Accurascale 😀) and kit built. These negotiate the formation without issue. The only locomotive to have a problem (stalls) is the Hattons/DJM Auto Tank. This says more about the characteristics of this locomotive than the track it runs on.

I emailed Peco and they replied that slips and crossings are currently in production and will soon be with stockists.

I asked my wife if she wanted the good or bad news? Good News the Accurascale Deltics are coming. The bad news is your new car will have to wait a bit longer
Brave man!😃

It has been a fascinating development process that I'd certainly be interested in reading. As for the etched plate (and maybe the bodyside windows) I'm sure the aftermarket will provide for those that seek something different - its the nature (and part of the fun) of the hobby. Can't wait to get my pair - my current Bachmann three are all currently 'stored serviceable' but I reckon they will end up in the classifieds here along with everyone elses in late May/early June!
I sold my three Bachmann Deltics as soon as Accurascale announced their Deltic project. The plan was to fund the Accurascale version with the proceeds.
That was along time ago and of course that money is long gone... 😉😉

Quality issues do appear to be somewhat “hit and miss” with certain products, however the motors of my three “Goods Arthurs” are excellent.
One engine (the last purchased) did lose an expansion link pivot pin after purchase and was returned; strangely the replacement engine did the same thing but as it was a relatively straightforward job, I decided to fix it myself with an “N” gauge track pin.
Similar to this?😒
