The long Kadees are great for many British models as it hides the draft box behind the bufferbeam; nothing worse, apart from a tension lock, in seeing a draft box sticking forward of the bufferbeam IMO.

A solution to a point that has lost its spring is use a solenoid point motor with an over center spring fitted to it such as the SEEP PM4. A more advanced solution is to use slow motion point motors like a Tortoise or DCC Concepts Cobalt which work off dc rather than ac used for solenoids. The problem you may find with Hornby points is the size of the dead frog leading to locos with limited pick ups stalling.

Resin dust is dangerous so appropriate PPE. A dodge to that I have it used is to have the building that is to be cut in a full bowl of water and the cuts made underwater so the dust off is trapped in the water which can then be drained into a sealed container and that and the bowl disposed of in sealed waste bag
