  1. Once described as East Anglias prettiest railway bridge dating from 1846 and is in fact a listed building still very much in use today.

I’ve been keen on a model of this for a few years so it’s great to now have this beautiful bridge in 4mm model form on our workbench today.

There is already several hours of survey and design work gone into this and that’s before a few hours of laser time. A few more bits lasered today will finish it off and then it will be in primer this evening for viewing by the Bury St Edmunds MRC.

The arch under was particularly tricky with its complex double curve. We didn’t have enough time to calculate the geometry for a precision laser cut part. Instead an oversize piece will be lasercut and then trimmed by hand.

It’s been put the the MRC that the 75 year anniversary of the club should be to build Bury St Edmunds Station of which this bridge would be part. Much of the drawing and Cad has been completed. I think if the club don’t go for it a small but dedicated group of us will do it anyway.

To compliment the waiting room and our other waiting room kits is our GWR inspired wooden platform.

The modular design allows for platforms of various lengths to be produced.

  3. A new kit added for 2023 is our version of a Country Station waiting room/Shelter.

For the eagle eyed, this is based on Midsomer Norton.

7mm version available now and 4mm coming soon.

The station in the first pic is a lovely building, but at nearly £300 for a card kit it's too rich for my pocket.😲

For that money, you could have an Intentio kit made from wood, double skinned interior, and that will last 20 plus years.

Undoubtably these kits will do well but for just a little more money, Intentio and there are other similar manufactures, will supply you a much better offering and better value for money too.

The chimney needs to somehow attach to the sand house.

As the chimney is tapered all the way down I thought I'd make a small square base for it with a short joining section to the building.

That’s a great idea. I’ll have to borrow that and produce as an optional extra.

  6. That is one of my favourite kits but it takes so long to cut out. I think about 6/7 hours on the laser for the 7mm version.

I’ve been persuaded to do another batch in 7mm and also a very limited number in 4mm.  I’ll probably see how I can simplify the design so to speed up laser time.

In the meantime, i shall look forward to the updates here.
