I'm building stock for a future Isle of Wight layout set in the late 1930s/start of WW2 period and considering what a mish-mash of secondhand, patched up and modified coaching stock they had at the time, I wondered if a set of these or the Hattons units in SR livery would work behind a Terrier or an O2? - any views?
I was thinking of using both the Hornby offerings and Hattons for my planned freelance Southern layout Colonel Stephens esq.

Thanks everyone for your ideas and yes the size is 6ft by 1ft with room for a removable fiddle yard.
The idea of having a level crossing came from visiting the Kent & East Sussex Railway. So lots to think about and yes some big asks in there.
So thanks once again.

Hi All i have a spare board which is 6ft x 1ft which i would like to build a Colonel Stephens inspired End of branch line.
Must haves are
A small platform with passing loop
2 or 3 sidings for goods traffic
and a level crossing.
Locos i have or plan to use are a Terrier, P class and a peckett so all small locos.
Any ideas would be welcome.

Called into the shop this week while working in the area. All the staff were very helpful and friendly and the shop is very well stocked.
I picked up all the scenic items i needed. Well worth a visit if your in the area.

Morning all well at 1st every time i logged in my password wasn't recognised so i had to resubmit a password. That all seems ok now.
But the topics that i have followed over the years are harder to find and some older ones have lost pictures attached to them.
I have to say i much prefered the old set up in that respect and thought it was easier to navigate.

I really enjoyed the DVD with this issue, Some great ideas for both reviving an old layout and a newbie starting out.
I currently have a paper subscription but will be looking into a digital one.
One question i have is how much storage space do you get with a pocketmags account ?.
