I had a walk around the Quarry yesterday and learned that it had permanently closed about 6 months ago. The gates were locked but there still seems to be a fair amount of the infrastructure there. A lot of the trees have been marked up for felling on the West side of the quarry so I won't be mountain biking around those trails before long.

Congratulations on winning a trophy for your layout at the Workington exhibition Ian. Very well deserved. Stephen and I were wondering if you had given thought to perhaps adding a sprinkling of snow?  Phil

We showcased this 5" gauge model built by Vic Crossman at our local Model Railway Exhibition in Workington last year.

I downloaded the pdf and saw on page 10 almost exactly the same image. 

Revealed on the KR models stand at the Great British Model Railway Show at the weekend. 

Did you ever imagine that one day the hobby would be enriched with a ready to run 4mm scale model of a Distington Torpedo wagon? For all those in the process of scratchbuilding one........Yah, boo sucks, you ought to have known better.
