  1. I love this layout, and its inspired me to push my layout further into deepest, darkest Western region with the purchase of a 121. The standard of modelling is something I can never hope to emulate, but if I can capture 20% of the atmosphere you create of the 1950s/60s I'll be very satisfied. I also love your approach to modelling, that it is for enjoyment and that rule one always applies.
  2. Thank you to you all for the great pics of Blue 04s, and to Phil for picking up the other part of this thread in terms of branch line operations. I'd be very interested to hear about any WR 04 action, if anyone has any further info.
  3. I have just picked up a bargain Bachmann BR Blue Class 04, and I have been doing a bit of digging. I know that not many of them made it into BR Blue, and that all had been withdrawn by 1971/72. I also know about the classic branch line working on the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway (with cowcatchers) but was wondering whether anybody knows: Firstly how many made it into BR Blue, and whether you know where these locos were based? Secondly whether the 04's had any other regular branch workings in other parts of the country? Many thanks for any help you can give me.
