Have we had any more information on a release date? Hattons is claiming January to March but if we haven’t heard if they are on the boat and with Chinese New Year approaching will they still make this window?

The letters and numbers are retro reflective so can look silver in the right light (or under a camera flash)
Thanks didn’t know that

A few pics of the various Colas 70's dotted around Eastleigh station last night.
Cheers,
Phil.
Now is it just the light or does it look like the class 70 in the second picture has had the colas lettering removed?

Hello, does anyone have Hornby class 60 body’s for sale. No particular livery in mind as this will be for a respray project.
Thanks

Interesting I’ll have to keep an eye open next time I’m in the areaThe GBRf (ex Colas) 60s are regular performers on the Port of Tyne - Lynemouth PS biomass trains.
I see them almost everyday.

Some really nice pictures. Where is the best place to see class 60’s now a days?

Class 60 and class 92 share the same body shell so they are related. There’s a few differences here and there but you can see the resemblance

I found that giving the side of the cabs a tap with your finger or pressing down lightly on the top of the cab can get the lights working. Must just shock the contacts a little to make a better connection. Have you got another class 56 to test the lights with?
-
I'm not entirely sure about that but I don't know where you'd be able so source the pcb. Maybe peters spares.
-
You could purchase new cab units of eBay from non sound locos and fit them in to your body shell. These should be a simple swap involving the removal of the cab plastic since the light are built on to the moulding. That at least works for class 60's so hopefully the 56 will be the same idea.

What type of connectors are on the bottoms of the cabs for the lights?
According to Hornby's service sheets any model from R2750 onwards features the new cab contacts so if your body also has the new ones any chassis after R2750 will work. Seeing as your model starts with R3 I would assume it has the new ones.

I'd love to see a Hornby class 60 in colas rail colours as well. Id also like to see another DBS one but in plain DBS red rather than 60007's switch on to safety branding

Hopefully this will be less noticeable in the flesh and it’s just the close up shots that give it that slightly off effect
