The next step is self shelf filling ...

As the railway station is nearer than my local Aldi (10 minute walk v 30 minutes) I get the train (free) to their city centre store to buy their Honey Soaked Seeded Bloomer. Takes longer but easier on the feet and an enjoyable journey.

None of my local Aldis* have self-checkout (yet**), though I still haven't come to terms with the store layout of the "upgraded" Aldis that got done a few years ago.  I tend to patronise the two with the old-style layout, as I can remember exactly what's where!  It'll be a sad day when they get upgraded...

* 6 within striking distance...

** One is up for a complete site redevelopment in the next couple of years, so I expect to see self-checkout aisles there.
