  1. Hi all,

I'm not sure if it is just me having this problem, but I cannot order from the new Locomotion models website because it blocks the verified by visa service for my card.

The new website is also extremely unfriendly for mobile users, with odd sizes for some pages and a feature whereby it's very difficult to scroll down pages as a single click anywhere near a product image whilst trying  to scroll takes you to it's page.

Is anyone else having these problems?

    Cheers,

      60800

  2. An email went out yesterday to those of us on the mailing list for the Hunslet Bo-Bo stating the order book is now open.

I'm very happy that 72 in her current guise has been chosen as I worked on her frames during her last major rebuild / overhaul.

79 'Big Keith' is a welcome choice too, it being the last one I worked on before I left.

The ep samples shown look fantastic and I can't wait for my pair of 72 and 79 to arrive.

    Cheers,

With all that said, I'm still working out if I can move money around to afford it!

I was hoping for a DB red 90, but after the recent price hikes I've ended up buying a railfreight grey one to spray instead - it cost me almost £100 less than this 90028.

I know the buffers are the wrong type for DB on the first run railfreight grey example, but it's the easiest one to paint.

  4. I thought my quota for gorgeous Scottish locos was filled with my Caley 828 that arrived yesterday.

Looks like it's going to have a Highland shed mate!

As much I like the green version, I made the logical choice (for me) of the preserved example, in that rather unique yellow.

Echoing other's comments and joining the bandwagon - if this is the start of a line of pre-grouping Scottish locos encompassing the Glasgow collection and Caley 419, I think you'd be making a lot of people happy.

    Cheers,

    Really?

I was looking at a Bachmann picture of the new 60800 and it looks different to that picture in several ways.

Found it:scratchhead: NRM version in museum condition?

I rather like the look of 4791

Sorry I didn't see your reply - yeah I plan on toning down the wheels and motion from that 'museum finish'

Interestingly, 60700's smokebox numberplate is displayed in the New Danum gallery in the same hall as Green Arrow.

  6. My 60700 arrived on Monday - no visual issues, but I haven't ran it yet.

    I couldn't resist doing this pairing, both locos ironically being my newest arrivals;

Oh thats cool, I never thought VTEC just hired EMT power cars, I know I saw full EMT sets on hire on the ECML before… that changes things. How often was it just the power cars ? I know full sets happened fairly frequently.

I never saw a full EMT set as a 'hired in' on the ECML, but I do recall in East Coast days seeing an East Midlands Pair with East Coast stock and an East Coast Pair on East Midlands stock on different occasions.

The trouble is, it’s all very well them tooling the different light clusters etc but can they be trusted to actually use the correct ones when they produce the models?!

It seems beyond them to use the correct roof on a buffet or the right interior for a standard class coach so I wouldn’t hold out much hope! Lol. Didn’t the recent 31/1 use a 31/4 body?!!

Looking at the new LNER farewell pair they can't even paint or number them right either. It is very worrying.

  9. Noted in the Hornby magazine video for the HST;

New light clusters have been tooled, so it's possible we have the full midland and reduced midland (LSL) configurations available now.

Both day and light modes for the headlights plus cab lights

Rotating roof fans which use their own motor

    21 pin decoder sockets

    Sugar cube speaker housing

    Cheers,

I’m definitely going to increase my intake of lner mk4’s…. 5 different LNER 91’s to pick from now ! (intercity, BBMF, FTF, FS and LNER)… thats some range.

Where is 91119? I don't see it anywhere

  11. The new tooling for the HST looks to cover the the proper midland spec headlights. I really, really hope it does because that will be the icing on the cake for the EMT pair.

I have ordered this but can get away with not buying the coaches as they'll be hired PC's on LNER stock.

Sorry that you’ve been upset by some comments. Feelings are obviously running high on its merits and otherwise. Some of us have lost the plot somewhere between genuine knowledge and enthusiasm and the practicalities of bringing the V2 to release in rtr form. I knew before I ordered a BR l/c green version that there were a few things not as they might be. However that did not deter me from doing so and I am looking forward to receiving it hopefully early in the New Year. I might even stretch to a BR black version in due course.

    Enjoy your V2.

Thanks for your kind comments Ian. I hope you enjoy your V2 as well.

I just wish it wasn't as expensive as it was, otherwise I would have had both versions.

The valve gear is blinged up for the Locomotion models.

As far as I'm aware, the other LNER releases have the shiny motion too - although it might just be the pre-production samples. I get that they were going for a museum finish with Green Arrow but it is a little too stark - nothing a quick oil wash won't fix though.

  14. For those waiting for their V2's to arrive - they are well worth the wait. Most of the issues mentioned are easily fixable if they bother you - And the cab? Well honestly I'd rather have a slightly chunky cab front than any of the issues I've had with Hornby releases from the past two years.

  15. I was rather surprised to log on this morning and see that there are some DCC ready editions of RSG now available, especially since there were none by the time I saw the post when the extended run announcement was made last week.

Since DCC sound was available for a short while, I wonder if people have upgraded from DCC ready orders? Regardless I am grateful RSG is available again and I've just put my order in.

@Accurascale Fran Do you know how much allocation of Tulyar is left please? I was going to order that but RSG took precedence!

    Cheers,
