My renewal letter came through with the quote £120 less than last year. Needless to say, I accepted that.

Superb work SImon and congratualtions on a successful first outing. Seeing all those flight cases brought back happy memories of an earlier life and knowing how much I spent on mine 15 years ago, I know there is an impressive investment there. Looking forward to this coming "dahn sarf".

I dont know how I missed this thread, but delighted to find it and spend a very pleasant couple of hours reading through. I love how the classic simplicity of the track plan is contrasted by the impeccable and flawless scenery that surrounds it. An absolute work of art. Thank you for sharing with us.

Going back to the Hemp bricks in the OP, it looks like a really good idea if all the essential aspects are covered, such as strength, durability, longevity, fire resistance, insulation, toxicity and environmental factors, such as the CO2 issues.
The problem, particularly here in the UK, would be regulatory and trying to convince mortgage lenders and insurance companies of the viability, safety and financial security of using such materials.
.
There is a building going up near here that is primarily OSB and polystyrene., I did spot a few bits of 4 x 2 as well. Hardly robust materials. Maybe they will skim it with bricks, but that means they are cosmetic rather than scructural.

For any Ivor the Engine fans out there, there is a particularly good 16mm kit available from Rail-Road Models.

Was good until about 19.04 this evening. Then about 30 seconds for a new page to load (blank page), but it only partly loads. (Image is pale with a "loading" box at the bottom of the page) for another 40 seconds or so. Then I got this error message.

I used to use XtrackCAD, but now prefer SCARM.

2 minutes to open new pages and some return 520 errors.

Still the same for me. This is by far the "slowest" forum I visit. It often takes several seconds for a page to load, it it doesnt time out.

They do look quite smart trains.
I still loved the old 485s though.

Who knows where they will go next with this, Lew is definitely allowed for in the tooling and Lyn would be logical next.
I think Lyn would be extremely popular.

Getting a lot of time out errors.
Also the grey image thing on almost every thread.
Very annoying.

Tesco should get their area manager down to the bridge site each day to ensure the Network Rail crew are well stocked up with sausage rolls and doughnuts. A few quid spent would do wonders for company PR.

Fair play to Max.
Hamilton: "its OK, it just encourages me to drive faster".

Max does seem to be driving in the aggressive "Senna style" of putting other drivers in the position of "yield or crash".
If you do that and the other driver doesnt yield, you cant blame him if it backfires and takes you out instead.

I am surprised the server hosts havent been booted out in favour of a provider that can adequately support the site. Or at least been threatened that is what is going to happen.
