Every year around the 4th of July, the Illinois Railway Museum hosts a Traction Weekend which focuses on their collection of electric streetcars, interurbans, and rapid transit equipment.
I was out on Saturday, July 1st, and Sunday, July 2nd, and shot these videos of the trains that they were running...
Enjoy,
Damin.

I have being playing around with a Tsunami Sound Chip. Not a finished Install by any means, but it works well in my Atlas SW1200RS, which still had the speaker in it from the TMCC gear it had when I bought it. The chip has drawn about a quarter-Amp on test. For the sort of low-speed switching required on Portway Center, a standard HO chip seems perfectly adequate for this O Scale, single-motor loco.
Cannot wait to see, I mean, hear it in action!
Thanks,
Damin.

Here - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/79495-trent-valley-show-2014/
The Show Pictures are on the last few pages.
There are pictures taken pre-show earlier but try http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/79495-trent-valley-show-2014/page-16 Pics from the show start at post#362
Thanks guys! Definitely a lot of great layouts there! Almost seems like the show would need a second day just to see everything.
Thanks,
Damin.

For Damin, there are now some pics of it in the TVNAM Thread...
Thanks F-UnitMad. Would you mind posting a link to the TVNAM thread? I seem to be having trouble finding it!

Well that went well - the layout seemed to be a hit at TVNAM yesterday
Glad to hear that the exhibition went well. Was this the layout's public debut? I'd love to see more pictures (or video) if you have then.
Thanks,
Damin.

I know that this is really Off-Topic on Chris' post but is it possible that a new topic an be opened on rebuilding the Weaver Geeps...
Ask and ye shall receive!

Damin, that is very naughty of you to post that link ... some of us on This Side of The Pond are suckers for a: O Scale and b: the Soo Line
Are you using the Weaver GP38-2 ? I 'kit-bashed' one with Atlas SD40 & GP35 parts to make a Bandit GP40.
Thanks F-UnitMad,
Yes, I am also using a Weaver GP38-2. Mine will be a model of Soo Line 4512 when it is finished. Photos of the actual 4512 can be found at http://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php?road_number=Soo%204512.
BTW, I'm a big fan of your Schiller Point layout. If fact, my layout is not that "far" from yours, as it is meant to represent a spur line serving one of the many industrial parks in the vicinity of the Bensenville, IL yard and O'Hare Int'l Airport.
Thanks,
Damin.

That's a nice little layout Damin. That '0' Gauge stuff looks very nice. Not so easy to get over here, unfortunately. What make is the track?
It's just Atlas 2-rail #5 turnouts and flextrack.

You've got to make more of an effort, I can understand Colin not coming cos he's play trains but being the wrong side of the pond doesn't cut it these days
Ah, but I also mentioned that I was busy preparing my own layout for a show next month! Shouldn't that count as an excuse?
Where can I see photos of you're layout?
I've got some photos from the first show posted here, http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/10708. They are on the second page, scroll down to the comment titled "My First Layout Exhibition -- The Results." These were taken last March. They aren't the greatest as I didn't have a chance to take any photos until Sunday afternoon after the show had ended. By then the Sun was shining directly on the layout, making the lighting quite harsh for my little camera.
Hopefully, I have a chance to take better photos at the next month's show. BTW, it's the Railroad Prototype Modelers meet on October 17-19. So if you're not busy playing trains, then you have no excuse for not crossing the pond to attend!
Thanks,
Damin.

Nice job on the hopper cars! Would love to attend the show and see your layout in person but I'm on the wrong hemisphere. Can't wait to see pictures from the show.
Meanwhile, I toiling away on my own layout that's set for its second outing this October.
Thanks,
Damin.

Hi Everyone,
In order to avoid continuing to hi-jack this thread, I've started a new thread here about the Baldwin 3D locomotive project.
Thanks,
Damin.
-
I have a copy of a basic drawing with key dimensions on (from Joe Strapac's "Interurban Electric Locomotives from Baldwin-Westinghouse"). If you have the skills and are keen enough to give it a go, then I'm sure you will get lots of support from US based forums.
Can you send them in a private message? I'm new and still figuring my way out with the RM forums.
Thanks,
Damin.

298,
Interested topic; I'll be following this.
If anyone has dimensioned line drawings of a GE boxcab, I volunteer to model it in 3D.
Thanks,
Damin.

I have an IKEA right down the road from me that I've been to several times. How in the heck did I miss this concept!
I'll be following this topic with interest. Thanks for posting it.

I will be starting another project shortly which will have a number of trees on it
I'll do a photo shot as I progress if that's Okay
IMHO, that would be more that "okay." Do let us know if you start another thread though.
Thanks,
Damin.
P.S. love the new arrival.

Looks good. I'll be following this.
In the meantime, I REALLY need to make some progress on my own O scale layout!
- Damin.

Thanks Chris.
Does the headshunt that runs behind the grain elevator only fit a single loco? Or can you get any cars in there as well?

I've been following this topic and am impressed by how quickly the layout has developed.
Is there a trackplan of this layout published anywhere?
Thanks,
Damin.
For anyone looking for a small-space layout plan..........
