  2. G'day Rob,

If I'm ever in the area one year I must make sure to check out the exhibition, looks like a lovely day out.

There was another video of his that showed your motorised Stirling single plus it's rake of coaches. If I recall correctly, it was on the layout that had the live steam Hornby locos.

If the modern Trams were N gauge, they must be either Kato or Tomica trams? Would you happen to have an R class tram at all in your extensive collection?

    Regards,

    Aaron

  3. My first K's kit was a 1361, bought for around $110, it wasn't a massive failure, although the "mint" chassis was far from that. My second K's kit is currently being built, the famous GWR 14xx Auto Tank.

If anyone here is interested, my thread is here:http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/79878-ks-gwr-14xx-auto-tank/

Any help is massively appreciated, espicially help concerning mounting the motor, and setting up the pony truck.

    Thanks!

  4. Looking nice so far, although I do have one suggestion. Rather than using the body of the Hornby 4 wheel coach, perhaps try to hunt down a coach from Bachmann USA's Prussia set. I know they were sold separately, and the body on it would be a much better match for the one in the film.

    Jack

The Triang Rocket coach body (R621?) is a much better choice, as the coach body in the film looked to be ex LMR.

  5. Hurrah. I've got my first "Disagree" courtsey of new poster Aarron14xx. (see post No 4).

Perhaps I am wrong when I say that a lot of people have heard good things about the Flying Scotsman but the definition of "Famous" is just that.

So, people or locomotives are famous because people have heard only good things about them? Hmm.

So therefore, people like Adolf Hitler, Stalin etc are good people, because they are "famous"

That may be taking it to the extreme, but it relates to your "definition" well, that a lot of people hear good things about people and that makes them famous.

    And BTW,

    It's spelt "aaron14xx"

  6.

I have today received a reply from Hornby, (who also apologised for the delay in replying).

They advise that there are no plans at the moment to release a Great Western castle with a Collett tender.

I guess this might change with the 2013 and 2014 release schedule(?)

So Hornby aren't releaseing a GWR Castle with the Collett tender, even though thats the tender that most recognised with the Class? Why is this??? They might as well not bother with the Castle!
