  1. Fascinating to read all about Motor carriage 2234, many thanks to all those who posted, since J H Follows was my paternal great-grandfather. He died in 1938, but I have vivid memories of my great grandmother (Amy Follows), who lived until the incredible age of 103, she died around 1972. I was researching JHF, and as you do, started down the track of his working life, when I came across MC2234. Great (or possibly not great) news is that the Honey Farm at Horncliffe advises me "it's well on its way to restoration" - we are hoping to drive across from SW Scotland to see it in July next year - it would be a really emotional experience to sit in the very carriage where JHF did his work and had his daily cold bath!! JHF and Amy's eldest daughter married G S Bellamy, who became the engineering super at the St Rollox works in 1942
