  1. My latest respray efforts, Caledonian Sleeper liveried 67004 Cairngorn. Rather typically Hornby announced they are going to produce 67004 in the same week i finnished it......
  2. The 318 was an ebay purchase, it had been modified and resprayed by its previous owner. It is currently still unmotorised, its a long 'to do' list!
  3. Newly resprayed MK2's into the Fife Cirlce rake. 6 coaches became a little repetitive but the effort was worth it. Just waiting for the Dapol Class 68 now!
  4. Cheers for your comments. Yes I agree the red ballast is a little overpowering, at some point I will give it a little weathering with an airbrush. Springburn does indeed give the options for some electric traction......
  5. Some developments. Ballasting completed in the station area. Two new sidings added. Over bridge as a scenic break (requires painting). Platforms tops added with Strathclyde painted lighting. I had a go at a bit of soldering, platform fences were soldered using brass rod and given a lick of paint into Strathclyde PTE colours. Two of the three stair cases added (an altered Hornby kit, with the compulsory Strathclyde colour scheme!) Station car park, with some patience testing white lines - masking tape certainly required! Some other detailing begun, such as lineside cable boxing and some point motors/ TPWS grids. CCTV cameras around the station platforms and the all important station name signs.
  6. Construction of the Station area has begun using the excellent Metcalf kits. Two through platforms for the main line, one through platform for the branch and two terminating platforms with the refuelling headshunt. A start has also been made to ballasting, using the traditional Scottish red ballast (it may require a little weathering!)
  7. The progress continues. A slight redesign of the branch from a straight line out of the station area (photo 1) to a curve to the right to enable the inclusion of a small loco TMD. (the point that will lead to the TMD can be seen in photo 2. Also a layout change to the pair of sidings in the station area to include a headshunt as a DMU refuelling point, capable of taking a 3 car DMU.
  8. Laying track work. A Double track main line with a single track branch. A main station area is visable and this will be split from the fiddle yard by a scienic break of a bridge.
  9. My first attempt at a layout. A modern image set up loosely based on Springburn, Eastern Glasgow. Period 2000-2010ish.
