  1. After 8 months or spending weekends building we decided that it was time to have a play.....well set up some shots to capture the feel of a mainline railway during the 70's -80's.
  2. LNERGE that would be greatly appreciated
  3. It was; there were a few boxes that received the same treatment, Garden Street being all timber construction and a tall box it was deemed vulnerable to enemy attack being so close to the Docks during WW2. To this day it stands derelict but it still has its frame in situ be it tho' minus levers as they were used elsewhere. Wellowgate Crossing box was removed in two sections and conserved at the NRM at York. The only one that didn't survive was Friargate Crossing Box which burnt to the ground one night during 1990
  4. This is the 2nd of three signalboxes for Grimsby Town all are of MS&L Rly design but painted in the drab BR olive grey to fit in with the 70's -early 80's. Though the box no longer exists at Grimsby fortunaly it has been preserved at the NRM in kit form at York.
  5. Almost there, the blast walls are all done and the craphouse now built and installed just the Gable ends to do, fit the roof and construct the walkways around the front and side of the box then ready for the attack of the paint brush!]
  6. Garden street box was scratch built by my brother,as for the period that we are modeling is late 60';s to the early 90's.As for finding pictures of the area they are definitely like hens teeth,we had trawled the internet as you do to get as much as we could, then we then actually went to Grimsby to capture the area for ourselves,The most surprising thing was how compact the site really is.Our layout is based on Grimsby Town with modelers artistic license due to the fact of the space we had and also what we wanted out of the model itself.
  7. Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what we have achieved so far.
  8. My brother and i are still working on it ,we are on face book as Grimsbytown doyle .We were asked if we could post on this site so just trying to get to grips of how this site operates.
  9. Here are the resident fleet of grids stored on Hundred rd at Marsh lane. A few pics of the fleet
