Why not ask Mick S about what's in season all at the same time?. He has allotments on Wansbeck and manages a real prototype one within view of his workbench. Should be able to advise on rhubarb with maybe a photo!
What kind of tree is that behind the soldiers in their greatcoats?
ps the fencing might need the odd slanting in-line strainer bracing to the posts and how about a standpipe and coiled up hose and watering cans for the allotment?

promise me you will eventually get rid of that horrible unrealistic toilet brush tree. It shouts train set instead of modeller.

For a quick answer why not temporarily plant them where you think best and then go out on exhibition. Someone who knows (or thinks they do) will tell you whether its wrong.
This is one of the problems of not working to a prototype plan in totallity for reference. My own layout's trackplan was all conjecture using up turnouts I had made up over time while giving demo's and seminars. I kind'a shook the box to see where they would fit. I've regretted it ever since but the layout was only meant to be an area group test bed - it just grew from there.
One comment from the public was that my original double slip allowed direct access into the goods yard. I later rebuilt the formation on site by removing the K-crossing area and fitting new closure rails to create something like two facing turnouts on the same footprint. I thought at the time it was totally without prototype but was much later surprised to find a photograph (and that a later 2mm layout has now a similar configuration). My real reason to rebuild the double slip was that I often had stock wrong roading at the K . I had applied the original 0.019" and 0.022" flangeway specifications and, really, they are logically impossible. Now you know why I caused such a controversy years back by suggesting The Association adapt to and adopt 20/20 thou's for flangeways. Just in time really with the advent of Templot!

Couplings are never boring stuff!
With 2 wagons there are 8 permetations of how the DG couplings can mate.
End B/vehicle 1 : end A/vehicle 2 x 2 : according to whichever loop drops first
End B/vehicle 1 : end B/vehicle 2 (reversed) x 2 (" above)
End A/vehicle 1 : end A/vehicle 2 x 2 (" above)
End A/vehicle 1 : end B/vehicle 2 (reversed) x 2 (" above)
This could be doubled, if you like, taking in to account any foibles of which direction you are propelling.
You will probably retort that this is all hyperthetical nonesense but, believe me (as my handle might suggest) I have made a long hard study of what goes on over the years in order to develope the refinements I have made for my own use.

Yeovil Town! So that's what the M7 was for.

Years and Years ago Geoff Jones won the Willis Cup for an injection mould to produce black plastic U/J's (these were in the Association shop fop a while). This was before Geoff moved into smallholding in Lancashire when production ceased. What chance he can find the mould (and time) to resume production or is it (and the plastic) a victim of H&S? Fortunately I still have a couple of sets in my stock - which says everything about my loco output!!

remind me - do the signals need wires? or does the token exchange obviate signals (apart from the ground disc)
ps I've got loads of unwanted fishing line if any use (some of it might be metallic - I need to check)

The article refered to in part one was by David Scott titled With A simple Twist and published in The Association Magazine in August 1994. Part 2 followd in April 1995. Further notes on a tool to aid the twisting followed in October 1996.

Elvis did "Singing Trees" in that Clambake movie but I can't find anything else - Oh Yes - Wooden Heart just comes to mind. I thought he might have done Oh Tannenbaum on a Christmas album but apparently not.
However, Gene Vincent recorded "In The Pines" on his "I'm Back and I'm Proud" CD.
All silly irrelevent info for yawl.

I'm glad the idea I devised years ago is still doing the rounds. It won the Willis cup at the 1992 AGM. The guest judge Andy Farquarson featured this in Dec 1992 Model Railways where he was on the editorial staff. I can't fathom out how to attach a copy of page 737 but it shows that the lids have to be one up and one down. This is necessary as the lids, having a slight taper for mould release, would otherwise produce a curved strip. Both Aldi and Asda's own brand instant granules currently have suitable lids!

The station building and goods shed were constructed using drawings found in John Minnis's book on Country Stations of The South Eastern & Chatham Railway. The former building is based on the Adisham (EKR) drawing pg 60/61/62/63 and the goods shed on Rainham (also EKR) pg 104/105. The style was used in various forms throughout the SECR and former constituents which I found to be the case for both Farningham Road and Sole Street.
My own layout Cotstart East had earlier used these drawings and later inspired Bill Rankin to use exactly the same for Welton Down. Although Bill was very much a Brighton devotee the architecture has "strayed" but at least was still Southern.
