Thistle Modelmakers Railway modelling in Edinburgh Meetings every Tuesday at 7.30pm Unit 51, Mayfield Industrial Estate Dalkeith EDINBURGH EH22 4AD Thistle Modelmakers Model Railway Club are a group of railway modellers based in Edinburgh. Most of us are interested in OO railway modelling but we also have members that have built layouts in On30, HO & HOe. Our exhibition layouts are set in Britain, Europe and the United States they include modern day German HO and HOe, a 1950s British OO model railway layout and 1930s backwoods America and 1960s urban America. The majority of our layouts are DCC controlled and some have DMX theatrical lighting effects to add interest for spectators. Walker Falls also adds a fully synchronised sound track. We have been building model railways many years and organised the Edinburgh model railway exhibition in Portobello Town Hall. We attend many exhibitions in Scotland and England as well as travelling to exhibitions throughout europe.
