Today I received these locos and I got to say the colour of the body side blue is not quite right. Im disappointed with this so Rails have kindly provided a returns label for a refund.

There’s a photo of 33029 on eBay, looks a lot better than 33012.

There’s a video on YouTube of the 121 in NSE and BR Blue and they do look good, just hope the motor within are not as noisy as the 159 I recently purchased.

I would have just returned it to Hattons for replacement / refund. Simples.

I think Hattons have done great job with the 66. When you look at what is currently in stock on their website and available to purchase today there are only 43 variations left out of a possible 93. Sales speaks volumes here, all the digital versions have pretty much sold out and virtually no DCC sound.

It is shame regarding the axle boxes coming loose or the wobbling that’s been mentioned here, I really want to say this is great model for those that are reading this regularly and are thinking should I buy or not. Go on get one you won’t regret it. For the future, please Dave provide us with a highly detailed 66779 ‘Evening Star’ and the London Underground versions and what about Metronet too.

Production samples have now been showcased for our second batch of Class 66s, which encompasses H4-66-032 to H4-66-037 in some of the more unusual contemporary liveries worn by the class. We will provide a delivery update for these and the outstanding models from Batch 1 as soon as possible. Does this mean that the first batch are delayed?

I picked up 87002 from Kernow late last week. Unfortunately I returned it back to them and exchanged it for a Heljan 33/1. By the way great customer service from Kernow. Im hoping that Hornby sort out the pantograph it’s very flimsy.

Hattons must of been very confident to say the sound versions were arriving in January following the last update on the 14th Jan.

I ordered 66789 the basic version back in January 2019 and updated my credit card details on 9th December. The lady on the phone informed me that I should check my mail for an update towards the end of that week (no response) I had hoped to take delivery before Christmas like others but this hasn’t happened. I rang Hattons yesterday and asked for an explanation, it’s clear that not enough of these were sent to the UK. I will wait now for the next batch to arrive but this has tainted my view of pre ordering any other products with them. Still waiting for my call back from the Manager as I requested. In the meantime enjoy your 66’s and most importantly Christmas with our families and friends. Happy Christmas everyone.

Sorry but the Colas 66 is wrong. They haven’t managed to capture where the peak of all three colours meet. Simple project managing that’s failed here. Apart from this issue they look fantastic, but parts should not be loose and rattling around in the packaging.

Gaugemaster’s website in the latest news section suggests a January 2019 release. I guess it’s a waiting game for these now.

Loving the large logo, but it looks like the multiple working socket is the wrong colour. Shouldn’t this be light orange?
