Hornby, I hope they're bothering to read these comments. Please do your homework before bringing out any more "updated" LMS streamliners. They're big bucks now, so Hornby should be getting details ironed out. I mean, we're now on v.3 and no better off than v.2
Nameplate backing colours.
Builder's plate colours.
Lamp bracket colour.
Lamp stripes colour & top stripe thickness.
Steps require hand-holes.
Hollow driving axles, not silver thanks.
Rims.
Front brakes & sanding pipes?????
Coupling hook colour and distance.
Cylinder drains.
And I do love the 4 machine gun apertures on the smokebox doors - rather Messerschmitt Me 262esque now.
I can't wait until they bring out 6229 & 6244 with that annoying lower stainless beading (never on the red locos, only the blue). Copied from the NRM 6229 full scale error. Well, it's like it on that one so it must be right, init? Nope pal. Homework.
Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh. Blood pressure pills, again. When Hornby can sort these c*kups out, I'll save up some dosh for one. Possibly v.4. And 9 blue coaches @ £46 each. Any chance for a pair of kitchen cars please Hornby? Save me from doing up my Comet kits. I've been waiting since the 1970s for them. God, 50 years Hornby. No rush.
