  1. There are n sweets in a bag. Six of the sweets are orange. The rest of the sweets are yellow. Hannah takes a random sweet from the bag. She eats the sweet. Hannah then takes at random another sweet from the bag. She eats the sweet. The probability that Hannah eats two orange sweets is 1/3. Show that n

Are you trying to design an improbability drive for a space ship ?

For the probability to be one third there would have to be 10 sweets to start with, six of which are orange. The chance of the first sweet being orange is six in ten or 0.6. The chance of the second sweet being orange is then five in nine or 0.555r. The chance of both sweets being orange is then 0.6 x 0.5555r = 0.3333r or 1/3. So n=10. 10 Squared is 100 100-10=90 90-90=0. Please send me my O level.
